Dallas Love Field (DAL) located in Dallas, Texas has roots dating back to the early 1900s. DAL was a military airfield maintained by the U.S. Army to train pilots. In 1913, First Lieutenant Moss Lee Love was killed during a training flight in San Diego, California. The U.S. Army honored Lieutenant Love by naming the Texas military airfield, “Love Field” on October 19, 1917 (DAL, n.d.). Love Field’s runways from the 1930’s to the 1950’s were continually being expanded for acceptance of larger aircraft. In the late 1950’s Pioneer, Continental, and American airlines started scheduling flights in and out of Love Field (DAL, n.d.). Love Field was expanding into a well-known passenger service airport in Texas connecting flights throughout the south regions. With the increased airport operations, Love Field decided to expand and upgrade their airport services and infrastructure. During the 1960’s parking garages were constructed, new terminals started, and an aviation fire station was built (DAL, n.d.). During the late 1960’s there were eight major airlines operating in and out of Love Field. Love Field was operating at full capacity which resulted in the city governments of Fort Worth and Dallas to establish a bond agreement to build Dallas Fort Worth International (DFW) airport less than 50 miles away from Love Field (DAL, n.d.). All eight airlines agreed to move flights from Love Field to DFW; however, Southwest airlines after securing their intrastate service decided to stay at Love Field (DAL,

Lacayo, Richard. “Inside the New Dallas Cowboys Stadium.” Time.com. 21 September 2009. Web. 2 December 2009.
Prior to the current stadium, the Cowboys’ home was one of the most recognizable professional sports stadiums of its time. From 1866 to 1890 it is estimated that over four million cows went through Fort Worth – or Cowtown as it is often called. In 1876, the railroad finally arrived and Fort Worth became the primary shipping poi...

“All told, there is over 6 million square feet of public space at DIA. The airport brags that they have room to build another terminal and two more concourses and could serve 100 million passengers a year. The airport flew 50.5 million in 2008” (Anomalies Unlimited 3). There is no need for that much room in any one airport especially when they are only flying half as many as th...
In the midst of one of the busiest cities in the world there lies a sanctuary. There lies an area where all men are equal, where poverty is non-existent, where all men are united under two things; the first being death and the second being America. Arlington National Cemetery is a tribute to all of the fallen heroes, the patriots, the soldiers, the pioneers, all who have cried American tears. I have been forever changed since visiting Arlington National Cemetery and it is a visit that every American should make.

This case study will examine the New York Giants and the New York Jets and how they compete with each other in the New York City area. I will look into the Giants relevant history, statistics on the greater New York City area, what challenges the Giants face to beat out their competition, and other various factors. This will be a difficult case study, because neither team has had dominating seasons as of late, and there are many fans that could be “fair whether fans” and they will only watch their team when they are being successful.
The beginning of the FAM program can be attributed to one singular event. On May 1st 1961 an event would take place that would change the way the US would approach aviation security forever. “The flight for National Airlines was prepared for departure from Miami International Airport t...
For years, Southwest Airlines has been experiencing stable costs, low fares and traffic stimulation. However, the latest changes in the marketplace (See Exhibit 1: SWOT Analysis), including the higher energy costs and the entrance of new low fare/cost carriers are threatening the future of the airline. As a result, LUV needs to decide whether or not to acquire the slots and gates from the bankrupt ATA Airlines at LaGuardia (LGA) terminal in New York City (NYC) in order to expand its capabilities.
It all started in 1971, when Rolling King and Herb Kelleher decided to challenge the existing rut of charging high prices for air travels. They considered the railways and roadways their competitors and decided to offer cheaper travel for smaller routes. The company was incorporated in 1967, apart from initial entry troubles, Southwest has been the only US airline to have earned profits since 1973. The eccentric company’s outlandish way of conducting themselves has been the sole reason for Southwest Airlines to succeed in a highly competitive and packed industry.

Whether it is business or leisure, the airport terminal is a busy and complicated place for people to visit each year.
