The Egyptians lived around the Nile River, where they obtained food and water. Also, ancient Egyptians invented a lot of inventions which they used in their daily life. For example, many objects were invented or used by them such as the scissors, deodorants, makeup, wigs, keys, locks, combs, toothpaste and toothbrush. Ancient Egyptians invented a method to cure meat and preserve food. Also, they invented the year calendar and the division of the day. In addition, Egyptians were the first people who knew how to create glass and faience objects. The Egyptian game of Senet is one of the world’s oldest known board games. They had many entertainments for instance, boat races, fishing and hunting. The average age for marriage in Ancient Egypt is not the same in modern Egypt. In ancient Egypt it was twelve years old, but in modern Egypt it is eighteen years old. Life in modern Egypt has changed in the big cities, where public and private transportation, television, American style food, sports, music, arts, cinema and theater are signs of a healthy modern economy.
