In this tragic love story about two men who struggle to win over one woman’s heart, working together seemed like the only option for both of them to get what they wanted. Cyrano is the most admirable character in this play because of all of his acts of kindness and helpfulness and also with his bravery and loyalty to his friends. Sometimes, fate can be unfair, and the greatest person can end up having the worst things, while the worst person can end up receiving the best things. In Cyrano de Bergerac by Edmond Rostand, Cyrano is a great man, who is noble and brave, but ends up being very poor and dies sadly. He helps his friend, Christian; win the heart of the woman he loves, all while he himself is suffering on the inside from the same feelings of love. Love is a state of mind that cannot be defined easily but can be experienced by everyone. His love for her is so great that he could sacrifice anything, even his own happiness in order to ensure hers. Cyrano seems to be a remarkable friend to have because not a lot of people would ever do something like that for their friend. Cyrano always thought that he is less fortunate to have a nose this big. That’s why when people made fun of him he got very angry but he never lost his charisma and he always made himself look smart. Roxane thinks that Christian is the most handsome boy and most outstanding poet in the world but she doesn’t know that it is Cyrano who is writing the letters to her. Cyrano’s disguised letters have moved her inexpressibly. Christian tells Cyrano he no longer wants Cyrano’s help, and then makes a fool of himself while he tries to speak to her and she doesn’t understand a single word of what he is saying. Cyrano than made Christian stand in front of Roxane’s balcony and tell her the things that Cyrano is whispering to him behind the bush. But eventually, Roxane realizes that Cyrano spoke to her and wrote the letters and she has found the soul she was in love with all
