The increasing reliance on technology gives opportunities for cyberterrorism to invade and threaten any individual or nation’s peace. Cybersecurity is one of the most pressing challenges facing Canada, like its peers. According to reports, obtaining a threat from cyberterrorism falls second on the list of things Canadians most worry about. Yet, despite these challenges, Canada, being a highly developed mixed economy, has, like its other allies, shed light on this pressing matter and has taken fruitful initiatives on it. This results in no sector remaining untouched as cyberattacks rapidly spread and evolve into new and advanced ways, overtaking the ability of not only Canada but other nations, institutions, and governments to keep up. The interconnected world of technology leaves no nation alone in its fight against cybercrimes. The Government of Canada believes and advocates international cooperation is necessary in addressing cyber threats and taking needed actions. Canada strongly states that uniform action against cyberterrorism, to join resources and skills to overcome the ever-growing threats in the cyber world, to ensure every individual in every nation, not Canada alone, has the right to be cyber-safe. The Government of Canada (GC) has openly supported various initiatives like the Global Forum on Cyber Expertise (GFCE) to further promote the vision of uniform action for world peace. Canada supports capacity-building efforts to increase resilience against malicious cyber activity. Since 2015, Canada has contributed over $13 million to cyber capacity-building projects
