Pornography on the Internet Have you ever been searching for something on the Internet and clicked on an innocent looking link and been sent to some pornographic site? This happens more times than most people realize. Many times dead links or incorrect addresses will automatically direct you to a pornographic site. The way that pornography on the Internet is accessed needs to be changed, so it is not accidentally opened. There is a lot of controversy over whether pornography should be on the Internet or not. Personally I could care less whether it was on the Web or not. I do not look at any of it nor will I ever care to. There are some people out there who do choose to look at pornography. I feel that is their personal choice. As long as the person is 18 or over they should be able to stare at pornography on the screen till their eyes cross if they want to. The only real problem I see is how a user can be so easily misdirected to a pornography site and trying to get out of one of these sites after you have accidentally been sent there can be annoying. I am sure we have all had this problem, you somehow get sent to a porn site and all these little boxes start popping up to go to other sites, to look at pictures, and to buy things. Trying to click your way out can be crazy. Everytime you finally get rid of one box another one pops up. If you try to use the back button to get out, you cannot because the site's designer has it set up so you are trapped in there. The way these sites are set up needs to be changed. A user should not be sent there unless they typed in "pornography" in a search engine or they typed in a particular pornographic site's address. Misdirection to these sites needs to be stopped. Many people argue that pornography should not be on the Internet because young children could get into these sites and see things they do not need to be seeing. In my opinion, young children should not even be on the Internet without adult supervision. There is a lot of information on the Internet that young children do not need to be accessing anyway besides pornography. What I do not understand is that you can go to a store and buy a pornographic magazine or go to a video store and rent a pornographic movie and people are less bothered by these than the same thing on the Internet. I feel that just because there is pornographic material on the Internet that does not mean that you have to look at it. If it bothers then just do not go near these sites. Use the Internet for your own purposes and allow other people to use it for their reasons. As long as the way pornographic sites are found on the Internet are changed so that people are not accidentally sent to these sites I see no reason why these sites cannot be on the Internet with all the other information out there. I will never go to these sites so if they are removed it will not affect at all since it does not affect me now. It is a personal decision that each person has to make for themselves and I think everyone should have the right to access whatever material they are interested in.
In “To Kill a Mockingbird,” the author shows that Calpurnia and Miss Caroline play a big part in Scout’s early education. Calpurnia and Miss Caroline both differ in their methods and aim. Calpurnia is an African American maid for the Finch family. She had more education then most people and she is like a mother towards Scout. Scout never liked Calpurnia very much because Calpurnia always complained about her behavior. Calpurnia aim and method of teaching is to be disciplined and humble. Calpurnia wants Scout to know the right and the wrong. For example, when Walter Cunningham was comes over for dinner, he drowns all of his meal in syrup, and Scout was angry. However, Calpurnia called her to the kitchen and said, “He ain’t company, Cal, he’s just a Cunningham-” “Hush your mouth! Don’t matter who they are, anybody sets foot in this house’s yo‘ comp’ny, and don’t you let me catch you remarkin’ on their ways like you was so high and mighty!”

Calpurnia is a cook for the finch family, but is considered to be family to them and is a big influence in their lives; Scout finch, the youngest of the two finch kids says, “Calpurnia was something else again. She was all angels and bones” (Lee 6) . She is a colored women and in Maycomb county, colored people are not considered people to most, but unlike the rest of Maycomb County, the finch family did not see them that way and respected colored folks as they would white people. Calpurnia is a huge supporter of the Finch’s and is like a mother to Jem and Scout, since their mother died when Jem and Scout were very young. She watches over them and is a big influence in jem ...
Calpurnia is the cook, but she more like a mother figure for the kids. The book also explains that the kids mother died. While Atticus is at work Calpurnia cooks for the kids and gets them ready for bed. Calpurnia taught scout how to read and write, that got her in trouble on the first day of school. Calpurnia doesn’t take advantage of all the control she has but she does punish them. She even brings them to church with her.

Many people have many ideas and opinions on different things in society. One of these things that come up frequently is a person's opinion on pornography whether it is good or bad for society. My opinion is that porn is good for the society with limitations. Limitations that I believe in are that all persons in the pornography must be or the age of eighteen or older and animal pornography should be banned from print. These limitations could be made by the government or by the companies which make the pornography. I will also quote Wendy McElroy from "Individualist Feminism: A True Defense of Pornography" and use a few of her ideas in my opinion on pornography because I agree with her ideas one hundred percent.
Calpurnia took the children under her wing. She seemed to be the mother figure to Scout. She takes pride in her children this is shown later in the story "Calpurnia bent down and kissed me. I ran along, wondering what had come over her. She had wanted to make up with me, that was it. She had always been too hard on me, she had at last seen the error of her fractious ways, she was sorry and too stubborn to say so." (Page 29). All mothers and daughters fight. Calpurnia always teaches her things and leads her in the right direction. Later on, we see Calpurnia, and Scout gets along a lot better than
Censorship is Necessary to Protect Children from the Internet Do you want our future generations being exposed to violence, hate, sexuality, illegal substances, and false information, and then one day think it would be cool or alright to try these things? The internet is filled with dangerous information, that children should never have the freedom to access. Children learn from example, and if they search, watch, or read something on the web that could be potentially dangerous, they could be influenced or curious and think that it would be alright to imitate one day. If our children now are viewing these things, it could mean that future generations could grow to be more violent and our world could become more dangerous than it already is today. Censorship is necessary if we plan on having our kids grow up in the safest environment possible.
Before the Internet came about, it was harder to access such materials, and were typically available in “adult stores, through X-rated video rentals, and on some newsstands” (Castleman, How Does Internet Porn Affect Teens -- Really?”). The inception of the worldwide web has caused what is known as the “Golden Age of Porn”, and accessibility of pornography has surged. Millions of sexually explicit photos and videos are available, and free to everyone (Castleman, “How
The internet is an essential tool in everyday life. The age of a person does not matter, because whether they are a teen, an adult, or an elderly person in order to stay in contact with others they will need the internet. However, the internet is dangerously addictive. Some studies say that the internet is not the addiction, but the means of getting to the addiction. The more believable of the two studies are the ones that discuss the internet being the addiction. Curtis stated in 2012 that reports on the brain are showing that people who excessively use the internet show abnormalities similar to people who suffer from substance addiction. Curtis also stated that internet addiction was becoming
Pornography is a veritable Pandora’s box, lying there on its own, with people all across the world poking it time and again. There is no denying that it has piqued our interest at least a few times, if not more. Most of us have taken that secretive peek, and either enjoyed it and come back for more, or have been completely flabbergasted and still come back for just one more peek. It’s okay, I’m not judging. However, the need to treat it as a taboo needs to go. Porn presents limitless oppurtunities- for enjoyment, for relaxation, for human needs, for entertainment, for study and for much more. Why not just accept it as that?
In recent years, pornography has established itself as perhaps the most controversial topic arising out of the use of the Internet. The easy availability of this type of sexually explicit material has caused a panic among government officials, family groups, religious groups and law enforcement bodies and this panic has been perpetuated in the media.
...ate than their parents. Actions should be taken to protect children from obscenity, pornography and indecency in the Internet. Just as we have laws against murder and we have laws against speeding. We still have murder and we still have speeding. But I think that we very likely would have more murders and more speeders if we didn't have laws as a deterrent.
Imagine someone born in the early 1900’s entering a modern-day classroom. They would likely be confused as to what televisions, computers, cell phones, and other electronic devices are. It is also likely that they would be overwhelmed by the instant access to information that the internet provides. Digital media has become a large part of people’s everyday lives especially with the rise of digital media in classrooms. Digital media is growing so rapidly that people who are not adapting to this shift in culture are falling behind and becoming victims of the “digital divide”, this is leaving people misinformed. Digital media has a large effect on the way that people communicate, this is especially evident in the way that students interact with
