Cyberbullying is Added to the Dictionary
Should cyberbullying be added to the dictionary? The twelfth edition of the Concise Oxford English Dictionary is adding over 400 new words to keep the tradition of adding new words and staying up to date with the world. Many of these words are related to the internet/social media. The first reason why people can learn from cyberbullying when it is added is because not a lot of people talk to adults about it. Less than 1 in 5 cyberbullying incidents are reported to law enforcement (Cyber Bullying Statistics). If people understand what cyberbullying is, then they might not be as afraid to tell someone about it and it can be fixed. Another reason how people can learn more about cyberbullying is that they can learn how to prevent it. Schools must protect students’ First Amendment rights but also maintain the learning environment and safety at school. Three main reasons why school should not limit students online speech are there is not a large percent affected, it does not cause
Eden Foster states, “ The effects of cyberbullying reaches a much wider audience due to the popularity of social networking sites.” This is important because, since so many people have social media, a lot of people can view or share the effects of cyberbullying. If one sees the damage done to a victim, they can either share the post and make sure more and more people see it, or they can report the post. However, in order for something to be considered as cyberbullying, the bully must repeat their actions, making it problematic to stop all cyberbullying. The fact page, “What is Cyberbullying” mentions that anyone who has access to the internet can view the aggression caused by the bullies. Cyberbullies can attack their victim in many ways. It is possible to cyberbully someone by posting embarrassing photos, spreading rumors online, creating fake accounts to harass them, or forwarding hurtful messages about someone. Since there are so many ways to cyberbully, it is easy for many people to bully someone, which makes it accessible for numerous amounts of people to
By having cyberbullying grow, people are starting to make new laws and make it a federal crime. It’s a lot harder to get rid of cyberbullying, because there are so many social media sites where it can be found. With just a mean effortless tweet, comment, or message it can be a toll on somebody’s life. Statistics show that “20% of youth ages 11-18 have been victims of cyberbullying.” Most teens do cyberbullying, because they think it’s funny, or they just think that person deserves it, but what teens don’t get is what consequences lie

Schools need to establish a no tolerance policy towards cyberbullying and strictly enforce it too. A victim of cyberbullying needs to try and resolve the issue on their own first, before they talk to someone or get help. Students should have the privilege of talking to someone like a teacher, that they feel comfortable around and trust. This is important thing to remember, because they need to be able to talk to someone about this when it is happening, so the teacher can put an end to the bullying that is occurring. Some students may have the fright of sharing on what is happening and this can be, for the reason that they have a fear of getting into trouble, the bullying could get worse, and no one would believe them (Hitchcock,
Costumes played an important role; among a few of the most important. Actors use costumes and props to give the audience a more realistic vibe, and are able to express themselves more precisely through costumes. Plenty of restrictions and laws came with Roman theater history and costumes, but following by these laws proved a loyal citizen of Rome. The material the costumes were made of were similar, in both Greek and Roman theater history. The actors wore robes or loose clothing, and the colors and or style were symbols of the character.
