Cyberbullying
Lukas Kamrowski/Ellen Degeneres has done a lot a positive things to help victims of cyberbullying as talk show host. She has strong convictions about bullying. She said, “We focus so much on our differences, and that is creating, I think, a lot of chaos and negativity and bullying in the world. And I think if everybody focused on what we all have in common - which is - we all want to be happy.” There are many reasons why cyberbullying happens. One of the most common causes is jealousy.
If we go back and look at Phoebe Prince. She was new and was dating the most popular guys in school. That made the teens who bullied her jealous. Another big reason a kid could be bullied is because

The effects of bullying are depression, stress, not wanting to go to school and the worst one is committing suicide. The first one I want to talk about is depression. Some kids, when bullied, go into depression and that can result in suicide. It also causes stress. If you are under stress, it might cause you to go into depression and possibly commit suicide. Stress can cause a lot of of problems. It might cause you to not do your homework, not interact and not be yourself. If you are under stress it might also cause you to go into depression. The last effect is suicide. Kids who are bullied are seven percent to nine percent more likely to commit suicide, according to the study done by the University of Yale in 2014. The suicide rate for bullying should be zero. If nobody would bully then that number could be zero but it’s not. Depression, stress, and other effects of bullying can lead to suicide. Now you know that these things can cause suicide. Bullying does, and it doesn't have to. “If you don't like you for being yourself more-Taylor swift. That's what Phoebe Prince had to go through. Phoebe Prince was born on November 24, 1994 in Bedford, England, she was the second youngest out of seven. Her father, Jeremy, was an Englishman and her mother, Ann, was an American. When she was 2 her family moved to a small town called Aramesh on the Coast of County Clare in Ireland. The family lived a normal life there. Many people liked their family, they were well respected in their community. She went to school in Ireland until the age of 14. Then her younger sister and mom moved to South Hadley, Boston in America. Phoebe attended high school there. The population was 700 kids in the school so it was pretty small. Before Phoebe attended the school, they were already having bullying problems the previous year. They even hired someone to give presentations on bullying. Two months before her 15th birthday she enrolled at South Hadley High School. She was treated well by most of the class. In October she started dating the school football captain, Sean Mulveyhill. He was in a very popular clique and two years older than Phoebe. You would think that dating the school football captain would make her become more popular , but that wasn't the case. They ended up breaking up two weeks later. She then entered a relationship with Austin Renowned. He was another popular senior. He was three years older than Phoebe. The popular guys had ex girlfriends who were very jealous of

One internal conflict that Phoebe has is when she meets a lunatic who alters her perception of how people are. She became more paranoid. She internally acts more worried and nervous about everyone she sees. In the text on page 40 it states, “Maybe he has a knife tucked into his socks.” This shows that when the
He realizes that it is not realistic to become a child again, and he begins to accept the fact that he must grow up and set an example for his sister, Phoebe. Growing up with
Although Holden has tried to build the house of perfection and landscape the land of innocence, he couldn’t do it because everything is perfect the way it is where he lives right now. When Phoebe rode the carousel, Holden couldn’t help be crying because she was the house and landscape Holden has been trying to create. She may be getting older, as well as him, but she is the last drop of hope for Holden’s dreams. Holden found out that he shouldn’t try to forget about the horrible things in life, but accept it for what it creates as a guideline of growing up.
Raquel and Melanie were considered very bright, motivated and driven students. Both girls were from the same neighborhood, and
... contentment in being with Phoebe. The transformation can be identified at the point where Phoebe asked, “Aren’t you going to ride, too?” (Salinger 273). This exhibits that she is no longer angry with Holden, and this is when the transformation is complete. Holden replied, “No, I’ll just watch ya, I think I’ll just watch” (Salinger 274). By refusing, Holden took the role of protecting Phoebe, returning home, and starting a new school life.
...When Holden concludes that you have to just let a kid go for what they want to do, even though they might get hurt doing so, he might be saying admitting growing up is in fact significant for Phoebe and for himself. He learns that he cannot protect a child from doing what they want to do, so he realizes that he should let them be.
“Once I got teased, I could see where the anger came from and what can make someone want to kill,” said Stefan Barone, a fourteen year old. (ABC News) The anger and depression is overwhelming and hard to control. There is no doubt that bullying cause’s suicide, and those bullied often commit acts of violence against others.
Bullying has occurred for many years and via the internet is a new form of bullying, giving higher chances for bullying to occur more often due to technology.
It is highly proven that the bully and the victim will think or even plan to commit suicide. Bullying is a big reason kids develop depression and it’s something schools can never get rid of. There’s always going to be a kid who feels the need to put other kids down to make them feel better about themselves. Once a kid gets bullied he/she is constantly reminded by that bully that they are not important and they don’t belong anywhere, and once they finally give up and starting believing what they were told they see no point to living anymore. All because they feel as if they don’t “belong” anywhere. This causes kids to hurt themselves and want to end their lives. They develop depression and start losing interest in school, stop being social, change their appearance, and it may even lead kids to drugs and drinking. Cyber bullying even puts you at a bigger risk of getting depression. Depression is an illness that no one can really understand but many things can cause it. Depression is something you can’t really get over, if you were bullied as a kid then you are at a higher risk of suffering from depression and mental disorders as an adult. When you get bullied a long chain of events can happen that the bully may not even realize. Bullying someone causes depression and that depression cause low self-esteem, anxiety, and the victim may even become physically ill. Bullying and depression have
Five high school students get in detention on a Saturday and all of them are different and don't know anything about each other in the beginning. At the start of the movie they all see each other as different stereotypes and think they have nothing in common. There was one popular girl, emotional (shy) girl, Surrey jack (rebel), wrestler (jock), and the nerd. In the beginning of the movie none of them liked each other or knew anything about one another, but the “Surrey jack” (John Bender) he liked the popular girl known as the princess at there school (Claire Standish). John Bender is a rebel, kinda known as a Surrey Jack but not a lot. John is a guy who couldn’t care less about school and no one really knows him. At Sullivan
Phoebe, Holden’s younger sister, is the symbol of childhood innocence that Holden hopes to protect from this phony world that is filled with filth and a disgusting reality. Holden believed that children were innocent because they viewed the world and society without any bias. Through out the novel, Holden hangs on to memories of Allie as a innocent child, but can’t do anything now because Allie is dead. He now puts his greatest efforts in keeping Phoebe’s innocents by nurturing her and always surrounding her with childish events. Nevertheless Holden finds much joy seeing her in these types of environments. Because Holden has been exposed to this phony world, and cannot gain his innocence back, he feels that bringing Phoebe to a carousel ride will help preserve her childhood. Holden thinks it is important for Phoebe to keep her innocence and stay a child as long as possible because in Holden’s personal experience, he had never really showed a liking into anyone except for a small handful. He saw bad in almost everyone and viewed the world as corrupt, which is why Holden Caulfield has a fear of g...
Phoebe: an example that maturity doesn’t necessarily correlate to age. She was a voice of reason in Holden’s life, encouraging his growing up, whilst still being a symbol of stability amidst his chaos.
Children see them as who they aspire to be. Sometimes adults look up to children as well. Children have an aspect of purity and they are untouched by the horrors of the real world. Holden calls his younger sister “old Phoebe”, because he envies her innocence and misses his childhood (192). At the same time, he feels that Phoebe sees the world for as it is and in some ways in more experienced than he is.
A major effect of bullying is the way it can change the victim 's personality. It may cause someone who is regularly self-sufficient and full of joy to become anxious, and hesitant. Consequently, victims may even become depressed or suicidal. Their self-sufficientness could possibly flee, keeping them from experiencing
