If video games did not exist what would society blame for peoples violent outbursts, or acts of aggression? The truth is video games have been around since 1958. In the 58 years after its creation, the video game continues to maintain its bearing even when its continually bombarded with false accusations of being the reason people in the gaming community act out with violence and aggression. True, there are those select few individuals that did something so shortsighted that they ended up on the news. That is still not enough to reason to solely blame video games. Many people believe that the game PONG, created by Nolan Bushwell in was the first video game ever made. That, which is sad to say, is wrong. Essentially it means that society is hesitant to embrace new things like technology, trends, things of that nature. For example, before video games, people blamed rock music for violence amongst the people of society (Bezio 1). Before that, people blamed television for violence. We as people are horrible at coming up with answers when a problem we can not comprehend immediately emerges. This is why we have cultural lag, we would rather point the finger, rather then find the solution. Hundreds of studies have been made on trying to find the connection between violence and video games. All of the tests have had the same result, no concrete proof that video games make people violent (Bezio 2). Why do we keep doing tests? It is because scholars and politicians continue to point fingers, telling us that video games are the reason people in the gaming community act out with violence. Proceeding my perusal of articles and research, written by authors with scientific credentials or otherwise, I have concluded that video games are no more to blame for the ebullition found in today’s society than any other possible cause. However, the incessant brouhaha as well as the negative notoriety surrounding media and video games refuses to cease or let up. These claims—for or against video games—are ultimately subjective and inconclusive and very little can be confidently derived from them. Granted, the violence found in our youth is growing rapidly, and there must be external reasons for that, but using video games as a scapegoat will not rectify anything.
In this essay I will be addressing the argument if there is a collision of “two cultures” in this book. I will look at the fact the Hmong people have their own medical practices that is completely different from the western medicine practices. I will look at the fact that the Hmong and the doctors did not communicate well and that it’s hard for those people of different cultures to understand one another.

This paper will bring forward the opinions of those who believe in no relationship between violent video games and bad behavior with one counter argument expressing the opinion of those who believe there is a relationship.
People have always been looking for a reason why horrible things happen. The media is quick to blame video games as the target and cause of many shootings that have occurred, ever since the Columbine and Quake. People have been blaming video games for violence for years now, ever since violent video games have been made. News reports blame video games more and more for each shooting, telling the public how this person played video games for x amount of hours a day, and that video games caused him or her to shoot people, and how video games encourage and reward violence. Anti-video game lobbyists have been campaigning to have violence removed from video games, citing resources that they themselves have created as reasons for such, poorly done studies where they confirm that kids are more aggressive through how much hot sauce they put on someone’s fries.

Many feel one aspect of today's society affecting our nation's youth in a negative manner is video games. Is this form of entertainment really a factor in teen violence? I think not. Video games are not to blame for increased teen violence.

Alice Park, writer of “Little By Little, Violent Video Games Make Us More Aggressive” published on time.com, believes that video games are making people more aggressive. But within her article there are many flaws with her arguments; it makes a poor attempt to blame video games for events like the columbine shooting, racism, and hostile behavior. Park makes poor unsupported claims about the quantity and quality of games being played by children and the effects these games are having on them.
