Can Tho is the capital city of the Mekong Delta in Vietnam with an area of 1,389.6 square km and a population of 1,187,089 people (2009).
Can Tho tourism is potential and need to be exploited effectively.
The main aim of this section is about that cultural tourism as a tool to build community well-being capital which is cultural capital in Can Tho.
Literature Review
1. Cultural capital
Cultural capital can represent a communities’ identity, their traditions, and understanding of each other. Cultural capital can be enacted through common occupations such as farming and ranching. Cultural capital can also be framed by a common attitude. ( Jacobs, 2011) For example, Can Tho people are gentle, honest, hospitably. They serve tourists delicately and carefully. Many tourists who once visited this place never forgot Can Tho city as well as its people.
Cultural capital creates its own distinctive characters for each community. Cultural capital is composed of symbols, language, festivals, and events. Many communities have distinctive festivals for celebrating their heritage and events. Cultural capital is also formed when communities live through historic events together( Jacobs, 2011). For example, Can Tho city jail built by French colonialist hundred years ago. City Jail is a bloody crime evidence of colonialism and imperialism. French colonialist built it for prisoning Vietnamese patriots and normal criminals. Then, US imperialist continuously used it for the same purpose. Today, City Jail has became a historical site recognized as a national historical vesting instead of using as crime purpose.

This criteria is used to label people as a certain class and is something that can be seen in education through the likes of theories such as cultural capital. In this essay I am going to compare and contrast differences between middle and working class experiences of education focusing on two main theories; Cultural capital and social reproduction. I am going to concentrate upon the primary sector in oppose to secondary or higher education due to the fact I believe that primary school is where most children develop their personalities which they carry with them in further life and it is their first academic experience; therefore it is where social class first becomes clearly noticeable. In relation to these theories I am going to research into the argument that parents have a strong influence on their child’s education from this young age.

Capital means resources, so someone with large cultural capital has a lot of experiences in the world and are perceived as knowledgeable and able to converse about an array of diverse topics. Cultural capital is the ideas and knowledge of people who draws upon and joins in social life. Everything from rules of custom, to being able to speak and write successfully can be considered as a cultural capital. Cultural capital is really just what it sounds like and it mostly make sense to me, most people don’t realize that they have it but is part off everybody and sometimes even earn a person social flexibility to be confident in everything that are doing. Can Tho City also aiming to accomplish over 20 eco-tourism based parks, and extend the area of eco-tourism business to other cities located at the Mekong Delta zone, together collaborating with Kien Giang and An Giang provinces to form a tourism triangle and build service center at the mountain area, island and river (VietnamTourism, 2014).
