There are a lot of quote and author claim, that are good but the one that i like the most and stands out the most is “You can’t cross the sea merely by standing and staring at the water”. By Rabindranath Tagore. I pick this quote because it's interesting what the author said. For an example when he said “you can’t cross the sea merely by standing and staring at the water. It’s like he is saying that you need to try something to get cross that sea merely or maybe he is saying that don’t be shy to try new things like crossing that sea merely you don’t know what’s out there. I think the quote is explaining to take a risk, live for danger, and don’t be boring. I pick these three to explain the quote because if you don’t risk, you would think everything

A noun also known as realism—verisimilitude. The technique is used overall in writing. Authors write historical fiction books with hints toward real life events or seem as if these could happen today; therefore, these books possess a high verisimilitude. The Kite Runner, by Khaled Hosseini, is a historical fiction book. The book is about a boy, Amir, that grows up in Afghanistan with a close friend, Hassan, who he later finds out is his half-brother. While in America during the Taliban takeover, Amir returns to Afghanistan to retrieve Hassan’s son Sohrab after Hassan is killed. These events are actual happenings in Afghanistan during the war time. The Kite Runner, by Khaled Hosseini, contains a high verisimilitude.
Our perspective on life can have a significant impact on our life. Depending on how you were raised it can impact your perspective on life very differently than others. For example if you were raised in a home of poverty or drug abuse you are use too that lifestyle when you're young. It wouldn't be till your older you would realize it is not a normal way of life. It shapes our life. In the novel the Glass Castle Jeanette is a perfect example of how your perspective changes throughout life as you experience life in addition to maturing. Her change in life had an unbelievable impact on her life that made her a well round mature adult despite her upbringing in poverty.
In the book “THe Kite Runner” by Khaled Hosseini, betrayal is is one of the big themes that occurs in this book. Amir shows the most betrayal of all, like him witnessing Hassan's rape and not helping him at all. That was his cowardly thing that he did and experiences guilt from it. Many years pass since that event he starts to feel what other people felt when he would betray them, like when he was betrayed by his father and Rahim Khan, because he found out that Hassan was his brother and he felt betrayal of trust just as he made the people he betrayed feel.
I am reading The Lost Hero by Rick Riordan, and I am on page 302. This portion of the novel is about three newfound half-bloods named Jason, Piper, and Leo. This novel starts off with Jason waking up on a bus, not knowing who he is. Apparently his best friend is a guy named Leo, and he has a girlfriend named Piper. They’re all apart of the same boarding school for troubled kids. They arrive at the grand canyon, when one of their thought to be classmates turns into a storm spirit and tries to kill them, because they are half-bloods. At the time they do not know that they are. Their coach, also known as their Teacher, is actually a Satyr that tries to defend the kids. Jason eliminates the storm spirits with his golden sword, even though he was
“…people need not fear the unknown if they are capable of achieving what they need and want" (79). Both protagonist learned about the dangers of fear through the tribulations of their journey. Although life may constantly though curveballs our way, it is important to learn how to take risks. One must to have the audacity to continue on. The Glass Castle is a novel that follows the life of a dysfunctional family from the perspective of Jeannette Walls, the third child of the Walls family. Throughout the stories, the readers see all the hardships the children face, as their lunatic parents do what they think is right. After reading the book, it seems to agree the quote “Parents can only give good advice or put them on the right paths, but the final forming of a person's character lies in their own hands” by Anne Frank.
Do you believe when people are born, they are born with a blank slate? An English philosopher named John Locke believed that people are born with a blank slate and we acquire ideas from our environment and the people that influence us. In the book “Lord of The Flies” by William Golding it shows us that everyone has evil inside of us and even children can do things that we will not expect they would do. Jack Merridew was a good example because he represented evil in the novel he turned savaged and let the evil inside of him take over his actions and these actions impacted other characters. Jack Merridew let his anger toward Ralph change him and also him wanting power and being the leader of them.
“You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, 'I lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.”(Eleanor Roosevelt). Courage and bravery are two of the well-demonstrated themes in the novel “The Kite Runner”. The novel establishes courage through consistently maintaining responsibilities and the ability to redeem and persevere events and actions. Rather, bravery is demonstrated in the novel as the ability to stand up for anything that goes against teaching and values. Bravery also goes above and beyond courage, and can be seen as an act that may challenge someone physically, emotionally and mentally. The novel is
The quote itself can be translated into, an everyday person does not want to be happy and ambition. That person will settle with what will keep them alive. I agree with this quote for a few reasons. To begin, the people in today’s
“Even in the darkest hour, when all hope seems lost… there is light.” Tolkein. The story, Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys, is about the a few survivors of WW2 who go on a long journey to get to the Wilhelm Gustloff. They end up meeting multiple people along the way and they all end up developing and changing along the journey. The families and children like Florian, Joana, Halinka, and Klaus that survived the “darkest hour” represent the future and the start of a new, better life. All of the characters that ended up surviving were driven by the need to create a future for the children and the need to be with their “family” they found along their journey.
Steve Jobs is trying to say that you should live every day like it is your last. He knew his life had value to him and his family. He felt like life was worth living even though once in a while a hard choice would come along to toughen his life. Making a choice is very hard, but when making a choice it should be one that you will not regret later in life. Making choices is one of the hardest things in life so you must see all the good and all the bad to the outcome of your options. Live everyday like it is your last.
