Cronus is the primordial god of time and was the king of the Titans and was viewed as an all-devouring, destructive force. He was born of Ouranos and Gaea and was the youngest and most powerful of the titans. “After them was born Cronus, the wily, youngest and most terrible of her children, and he hated his lusty sire.”(Atsmon, 2017). His symbol is depicted as either a Sickle or a scythe and is the patron of the harvest. His other duties are the King of the Universe, King of the Titans, to rule the Golden Age, and to rule the Isles of the Blessed in the Underworld.
Cronus’s symbol the sickle or scythe comes from the story of how Gaea gave birth to the Cyclops and the Hecatoncheires, which Ouranos hated from the second they were born. Ouranos hid them away in the Earth where they could not see the light. This action angered Gaea and she told the Titans of the plan she had to punish Ouranos but they were all scared and didn't want to but Cronus was the only one not afraid to so he said “Mother, I will undertake to do this deed, for I reverence not our father of evil name, for he first thought of doing shameful things.”(Atsmon, 2017). Gaea then gave Cronus a stone sickle with jagged teeth. They then set up a trap for

He was also the patron of the harvest and can be seen using either a sickle or scythe, but is most commonly seen with the sickle as his symbol. His only duties left are to rule the Isles of the Blessed like when he ruled during the Golden Age.

(Vonnegut:220) The Sirens of Titan is Kurt Vonnegut's second novel. He has written it in 1959, seven years after his previous Player Piano. It has been described as a pure science fiction novel and, after only one reading, it really can be considered to be one. Remember the Titans is a film from 2000 displaying a true story of a racially divided football team from the 1970s. The movie highlights the relationships of the black and white people, and how they learned to interact with each other in a time when this was not the way of life. It brings up a number of questions throughout, of what is right and what is wrong, and really challenges the characters, making it a very interesting movie to watch. I have seen this movie many times, and each time I feel like I get something new out of it. It is a movie that can be used as a teaching tool, it does a great job of interpreting not only what was happening in the United States of America at that time, but social psychology concepts through real life situations.
Robert Wyland says,“The ocean stirs at the heart, inspires the imagination and brings eternal joy to the soul.” The Titan, Oceanus is the most warm-hearted of his time because he is the only Titan that never fought, always makes sure people are safe first and most importantly, gave up some of his power to Poseidon.

In ancient Greece and Rome, each of the gods was associated with specific objects. In addition, the Romans perfected the use of secular allegorical symbols. For example, a woman surrounded by bunches of grapes and sheaves of wheat would be readily understood as a representation of the bounties of the earth.
The titans were the deities that started it all. The titans ruled before the Olympian gods came along. “Cronus was the Titan god of time and the ages, especially time were regarded as destructive and all-devouring” (Atsma). Cronus was in fear of a prophecy saying that his child would overthrow him and take over. So what he thought was logical was to swallow all of his children whole. Since they were immortal, they didn’t die, they simply lived in their father’s stomach. But Rhea, the wife of Cronus, “managed to save the youngest, Zeus, by hiding him away on the island of C...
