Nursing research is to find out a solution for a problem identified in the clinical setting. To apply the solution in nursing practice, the purpose of the research has to be found and developed to address the focus of the specific queries. Researchers’ inspiration for a study can come from many various sources. According to Polit and Beck (2014), five identified common sources of research problems are clinical experience, nursing literature, social issue, theories, and ideas from external sources (101).
Many clinical experiences in a troubling situation can bring up a curiosity, and it leads to create a specific researchable question. All levels and types of individual nursing experiences can be discovered to improve and transform the patient

Theories and other disciplines sometime suggest new idea to begin the research. The prediction of studies with theories make a compelling argument, and it interests nurses to explore the essential element. Deeper and more profound profession of nursing can be formed by the recent knowledge of evidence based practice. It is not only fact-based knowledge, but also to discovering better ways to improve human care (Burge and Sullivan, 2012). Last, ideas from external sources provide the motivation for nursing research. For instance, medical agency or health insurance Company routinely request the researches for theirs or the clients’ benefit. As a collaboration, they may assist nurse researchers to have appropriate settings or populations for a study. By demonstrating the research and providing a solution of their consideration, they improve relevant policy or system (Burge and Sullivan, 2012). The first step of research begins with recognizing a researchable question. Because research is to find a specific answer for the problems, it is significantly important where and for what the problems come from.

Every person’s needs must be recognized, respected, and filled if he or she must attain wholeness. The environment must attuned to that wholeness for healing to occur. Healing must be total or holistic if health must be restored or maintained. And a nurse-patient relationship is the very foundation of nursing (Conway et al 2011; Johnson, 2011). The Theory recognizes a person’s needs above all. It sets up the conducive environment to healing. It addresses and works on the restoration and maintenance of total health rather than only specific parts or aspect of the patient’s body or personality.
