Do you see things in the positive or in the negative? Are you a person who thinks negative all the time, or do you find a positive thing out of everything? If you were to ask me that question, I would tell you that I’m a person who tries to see the positive in every situation, but sometimes things just get to me. So, I could be negative sometimes. I’m the person who can see the glass half full. I also can see the glass half empty. I try not to think negative, because then it will ruin my whole mood. However, not everyone is the happy-go-lucky person. Sometimes, people just have bad days. It’s always good to be positive, because then people will want to be around you more. When I am in a cheer competition, or I’m just performing in general. Anything can go wrong when you perform. You can fall, you can drop someone while stunting. Anything can go wrong. Anything and everything. One time, I was at a cheer competition, I am not sure if it was Cal State Long Beach, or Long Beach University. I forgot the name of the college. It was the biggest competition that we had. We had to perform at 4:15, so we had to be there around 3:00 in the afternoon. It was around 90 degrees that day. We had to start getting warmed up. However, we had to warm up, outside. Outside, while it's blazing hot. I felt as if my arms were melting because it was so hot. We started warming up our stunts. Before, I was already tired, I didn’t sleep good the night before. Being out in the sun, with it being 90 degrees, it sucked all the energy from my body. I was so exhausted. My stunt kept falling. We weren’t hitting. Usually, my stunt group stays in the air, we usually always have a great routine. This time though, was not a solid routine, we were a
I believe you can be positive during a conflict. When being positive during a conflict, a better outcome will occur. For example, 6 million people died from a tragic event, the Holocaust. Many lives were lost, a majority were frightened, and most were hopeless. Yet, some people stayed positive during this horrible time.

Trauma could include death, violence, verbal and nonverbal words and actions, discrimination, racism, etc. Trauma can have serious long-term effects on a person’s health, mental stability, and physical body.

When I sat on the floor for 10 minutes, facing the corner, and talking to no one, while groaning. It felt weird because I could sense people glaring at me, and I could predict, what they are probably saying. They would probably think I am crazy or have some mental issue because of the way I am behaving. It also felt very lonely because I wasn’t able to talk to anyone, and that’s when I started to think deeply about something. During the 10 minutes, the time seems to go slower, especially when you are thinking deeply. 5 minutes in real life seemed like 30 minutes, when I was in the corner. I learned that caring for Christopher must have been hard for the parents, and it is understandable that time to time, the parents could lose their temper.
Everyone has been in that confusing situation where you have to decide to have a positive or negative outlook. Whether you choose to handle it positively or negatively can change the situation drastically. Although being negative can sometimes help in situations to solve something faster, but being positive all of the time has the greatest effects on you and people around you. Most people would say that I view the glass as half full, but I don’t necessarily agree with this. I’ve experienced close friends committing suicide, people bullying for my weight as a child, cousins becoming addicted to drugs, and seeing my mom fight depression for two years, and honestly, it’s hard to see the bright side of situations when there are glaring negatives. But after a few years, feeling sad became exhausting. Because I don’t fight mental illnesses like most of my family or face financial hardships, I try to help everyone focus on the positives.

Her delicate work in shaping the stone mountains, the beautiful coloring of the surroundings—it seemed as if I was looking at the picture or a painting of a genius.” Although the young girl was taken from her home and family and was being deported to an internment camp, she found the beauty of nature, which helped her remain positive that her new life would not be that bad. The young girl was optimistic that her new life would be different, and that she would just have to live in each moment. Also, “a positive attitude doesn't mean ignoring life's troubles. It just means being an optimist and looking for the good in things, rather than being a pessimist and concentrating on the bad in things. Sometimes your perspective can make all the difference in the world” (Wonderopolis). Major upheavals can be dealt with in many ways. However, remaining positive by reminding oneself of the good that still lies in their day is of the utmost importance.
