Getting all the opportunities you want and the pay you want is great, but you won't get all of that handed to you. Like I talked about before about the requirements, among these requirements is getting a certain degree and according to “About Education” having just a masters will give you limited job opportunities. But, having a Ph.D or Psy.D will give you more job opportunities such as being employed by private practices, academic institutions,forensic hospitals, correctional facilities and much more(“Criminal Psy.”). Of course reaching these requirements and getting opportunities to be employed will lead to what kind of salary you get. But it’s nothing like how they show it on TV.Criminal Psychologists are actually not allowed to go with the officers in the detention of suspects and solving a crime is not as easy as it seems on TV. Solving a crime could take weeks,months or maybe even years(“Criminal Psy.”). What Criminal Psychologists really do is study why people commit crimes, assessing criminals in order to evaluate the risk of recidivism, a person's relapse into criminal behavior, or make educated guesses about the actions a criminal may have taken after committing a crime and they also provide expert testimonies in court(Cherry). But that, of course, is just a general statement of what you do in the job. There are four ways a Psychologists may perform when involved in criminal proceedings; clinical,experimental,actuarial and advisory(“Criminal Psy.”). In this job you can do things like Crime Analysis or offender profiling(“Criminal Psy.”). This job is not what the same way people expect it to be, what I expected it to be, but it still interests
