Recommended: Career in criminal justice

Personal Statement Since I was young, I actively watched crime shows, which procedures and trials fascinated me. In addition to this interest, my dad instilled this desire for me to be a part of law enforcement since he worked for the Texas Department of Public Safety. At first, I thought about being a lawyer, but I knew this career would not satisfy me for long. I needed something with more action and more tailored to my passions. Then, two summers ago I had the opportunity of attending the FBI Teen Academy. This Teen Academy exposed me to so much information I never knew. The speakers were phenomenal and persuaded me to go down that route, specifically the violent crime division. After this exciting week finished, I vividly saw myself coming to work each morning for this agency. This further convinced me when some of the same FBI agents I encountered at the Teen Academy came to my high school and talked about cybercrime and violent crime. Hearing about innocent children who have been victimized and had their privacy stolen from them impacted me greatly. is a place I absolutely adore. I hope to live there one day because it is such a beautiful city filled with many career prospects. Finally, I want to know as much as possible about intelligence and national security before I begin working, and even before I apply to graduate school. If I am able to attend this academy, I will be exposed to knowledge and information that will significantly help me in my future career. It will prepare me for what is to come and give me an edge as a job applicant. I will admit that I am still a beginner when it comes to national security and intelligence, and am by no means an expert on these topics. The only way I will become one is by continuing to learn and participating in programs like the Texas Intelligence
