The United States Criminal Justice system is amongst the most respected governmental entities on the planet; and with a formidably structured and well developed hierarchy, history has uncovered its adaptability through operational effectiveness. Although many process, protocols, and scientifically reforms have been adopted, criminal justice practitioners and senior level leaders provide are continuously developing and revitalizing policies to foster cultural competence while ensuring public safety standards through law enforcement.
Delivering services of protection is a daunting task which the US criminal justice system has endured, however; its cordial approach to deterring crime and criminal accountability is due to many contributing factors. In addition to highly developed federal administrative agencies that oversee less inferior law enforcement department, departmental organizational effectiveness must also be considered when determining overall health of the US CJ system. In order to efficiently deliver the public’s expectations of protection and safety, the development of the CJ system encompasses decision makers from all level of government including legislative body members. However, the effectiveness of the criminal justice organization is highly dependent on federal, state, and local departmental interactions.

Conclusion
Although law enforcements department operate in different jurisdictions, their organizational effectiveness severely impacts that deliverable intentions of our constitutional values and the “promise of protection”.
When considering the complexity of the criminal justice system, it’s difficult not to include every facet that contributes to the departments’ readily available options and resources, affecting the choices that each department makes.
Decision makers within each department including government from federal, state, and local carry heavy burdens which ultimately dictate the course and results of organizational effectiveness.

The criminal justice system is a group of institutions that work together to protect a society, prevent and control crime, and maintain justice; enforcing the laws regulated by society. As the years have gone by and society has evolved; so have the criminal justice system and its methods to accomplish its role in society. This short analysis will evaluate the main facts that have been affecting the criminal justice system for decades and have influenced the evolution the justice system is enduring in a changing society (Muraski, 2009). Amongst the changes in the system, we will discuss the effect the changes have had on the citizens and how their perceptions have evolved as well.
Law enforcement agencies nationwide have repeatedly been shaken by controversy and forced to make undesirable concessions. Has law enforcement failed to maintain the high standards required by the profession? The cost of public trust is high. It increases each time faith must be regain. Historically, law enforcement agencies throughout the nation have experienced periods of low confidence in communities preceding episodes deemed to be a breach of trust.
This essay will discuss the role of the criminal justice professional in serving both individual and societal needs. It will identify and describe at least three individual needs and three societal needs, in addition to explaining the role of the criminal justice professional in serving each of these needs. Time may pass and personal morals may change, but one of the strengths of the United States of America is its unwavering dedication to justice. Throughout time, this country’s methods and laws have grown and adapted, but the basis of the law enforcement’s work has remained the same: the safety and interest of the people.
My interests in government and law first arose in grade 10 of high school when I took both civics and law classes. Here is where I first learned about the importance of the constitution, charter and the government’s role in the criminal justice system. This is also where I first learned about government policy and the importance of accountability and oversight in the criminal justice system. I immediately became captivated by these classes and knew that I wanted to do something in this field. My experiences in the Criminal Justice and Public Policy (CJPP) undergraduate degree have led me to become passionate about several criminal justice issues such as corrections, penology, victimology and public policy. One specific area of interest that I have found incredibly captivating is the accountability and oversight of the courts, judiciary, police and the media when reporting on criminal justice issues. Over the four years in my program, I have had the opportunity to learn about an immense number of criminal justice issues and methodologies that have created a desire to continue learning and practicing in the criminal justice field. As the CJPP program can be very demanding, it has allowed me to develop my problem-solving, communication, organizational, and time management skills.
The mission and goals of the department has been established by executive management and are implemented by the officers and administrative personnel who ultimately run and operate each individual office. The CHP has operated within the constraints of activity and productivity, the production of enforcement documents serve as evidence of individual and organizational competence. For years there has been an underlying assumption from the public that the CHP operates on a quota system in order to enforce the law, and while this is completely inaccurate the department does expect officers to be productive and to produce enforcement documents as a way to determine their productivity and job engagement (Walsh and Stanton, 2015). To that means the CHP is actively pursuing a culture change within the department. The Department has shifted its goals over the years and currently one of the goals of the department has changed to focus on public trust. The criminal justice system is composed of three parts – Police, Courts and Corrections – and all three work together to protect an individual’s rights and the rights of society to live without fear of being a victim of crime. According to merriam-webster.com, crime is defined as “an act that is forbidden or omission of a duty that is commanded by public law and that makes the offender liable to punishment by that law.” When all the three parts work together, it makes the criminal justice system function like a well tuned machine.
