Creighton’s long established dental program and factors such as student to faculty ratio, advanced clinical experience, focus on research and community service led me to choose Creighton. My foremost reason, however, for choosing Creighton is the mission and values of Creighton in that they resonate strongly with my ideals. Likewise, the institution’s focus on community service, indicated by events such as “Give Kids a Smile”, is an important aspect that would help me continue my passion of service, throughout dental school. Furthermore, affordable dental services along with the use of advanced technology will lead to valuable clinical experience. Another aspect of Creighton that has intrigued me is the small student to faculty ratio. I believe
David Nelson Crosthwait Jr. is one of the lesser known inventors. He’s the designer that made the heating system for the spectacular Radio Music Hall and Rockefeller Center in New York City. Crosthwait was born on May 27, 1898, Nashville, Tennessee and died on February 25, West Lafayette, Indiana. He went to school and grew up in Kansas city, Missouri. The main component I look for in college is their commitment to further my studies. I feel this college will provide an ingenious culture within the science field, therefore rendering myself with the building blocks necessary to later pursue the medical field. Not only does UNCW devote itself towards their student’s undergraduate years, but also by providing Professional pathways such as Pre-Medicine, students such as myself can go into Professional schools better prepared. In addition to my interest in the academics the school has to offer, I also marvel at the amount of extracurricular activities available to the student body. One student organization in particular is the Greek Life. When my mother attended this school, she was an avid member
...communities, especially those that are in need and what the community needs are primary health providers. From the beginning, when I decided to pursue dentistry, my goal was to become a general dentist, the idea of specializing seemed unnecessary. However, I have a recent newfound interest in pediatric dentistry and may explore that specialty. I’ve enjoyed working with children throughout the various volunteer activities and I feel like there is a need for pediatric dentists in the underserved communities. By being a pediatric dentist as a part of the National Health Corps Scholarship Program, I would be able to provide valuable skills and resources to children and their parents, especially those with special needs and dental fears. While pediatric dentistry is a specialty I will continue to explore, the priority remains to commit my career to serving those in need.
The 4+4 program at Hofstra caught my interest after I researched its medical school, the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. Northwell comprises some of the most renowned hospitals in the New York area, from the Long Island Jewish Medical Center to Lenox Hill Hospital. Aside from being partnered with such a prestigious institution, the Zucker School of Medicine’s progressive, “case based” curriculum is what intrigued me the most. Few medical schools offer to train its students for the 21st century, and this hands on approach seems like the best method to expose students from our generation to the ever changing field of healthcare. From working in groups to solve weekly cases to using real world patient cases to explain concepts, I feel as if the Zucker School of Medicine offers an optimal experience for its students to succeed in their fields.
Out of all the careers in the world, a dental hygienist probably has one of the most interesting and flexible jobs. Not only is this career interesting and flexible, but it is also very helpful towards others and usually pays pretty well too. Many people become dental hygienists because of the easy education requirements and high demand for their jobs. These days, dental hygienists are more respected and being hired more rapidly due to the fact that more and more people are keeping and taking better care of their teeth. They also say that at the end of the day they feel accomplished in knowing that they helped improved their patient’s health, even if only in the slightest way (“Interview with a Professional”).
To be honest my initial inspiration to take the dental therapy and hygienist course was from my mother, who would say ‘If more people had healthy teeth, more people would smile’.For me this statement was a turning point ,as it lead me to wondering that maybe the lack of clean and healthy teeth , is actually the prime reason to why many of us today do not smile enough , causing less unity between the people in our society. Hence from my research into the dental world, I settled on this course as it gives an opportunity for me to not only learn how to provide an assistance to the dentists trying to spread clean teeth ,but also get a chance to help and encourage younger, elder and those with disabilities to carry out the dental treatments, so
The primary reason I am applying to Molloy College is my desire to earn the education and qualifications in order to provide more involved care for my patients at work. I have known for some time that I have always wanted to be a nurse. Therefore, in April 2007 I enrolled in a program to become a certified nurse’s aide and earned my New York state certification in July 2007. I began working immediately at a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility in November 2007; I also began working in a hospital starting April 2015. Being employed at both facilities is what led me to fall in love with a career in nursing, all while allowing me to gain a wonderful amount of experience caring for a diverse population as well as working with a diverse population of health care professionals.
Dental schools often look for new students with a high GPA, excellent recommendations, and a high score on the Dental Acceptance Test taken in junior year of college. Dental school provides class courses such as anatomy, microbiology, biochemistry, physiology, clinical sciences, and laboratory techniques. When taking these courses, students learn local anesthesia, periodontology, or they learn the study of oral disease, health, and radiology. The first two years of dental school are typically dedicated to learning the pri...
There are various reasons that why I would love to work and live in the Sunshine State ‘QUEENSLAND’. I been living, studing and working in various type of work in my state Queensland since 2009, where I would like to express my love towards my state as below:
...inical therapy that I have learned throughout the program. As a dental hygiene student I’m already implementing ethical, legal and regulatory concepts for the provision of dental hygiene process of care, and I will utilize this foundation to throughout my career as a professional oral health care provider. In addition, as dental hygienist I will pursue life-long learning to provide client care based decisions using the most current evidence-based research. Thus I pledge to continue to learn and expand my skills and knowledge throughout my career. Graduating from CADH has provided me with great academic knowledge and clinical skills necessary to apply the concepts of health promotion and disease prevention. The experience that I have acquired at CADH will allow me to provide client specific, empathetic, empathetic and suitable treatment to all of my future clients.
My sister forwarded this job post to me, saying it was a perfect fit and I agree!
Many colleges have community service opportunities within the local community and abroad, but the thing that makes Tulane different from “many colleges” is that giving back to “one’s own” is at the very forefront and heart of what it means to be a Tulane student. Community service is such an pivotal part of the Tulane experience as it is integrated into the culture and framework of the school through various events and programs that are unique to Tulane. Tulane’s public service requirement serves as a testament that the school places on giving back to one’s community and I identify with this value
If CADH students will not be attending their duty scheduled rotations for screenings along with mentoring on time, our faculty could lose trust in us students and our clients could lose trust in the school as a professional health care setting. This could potentially result heaving our clients choosing another dental office or at worse not to resume treatment with the school. Without a duty student present on time for clinic, the clinic would not run smoothly and organized as it requires to be. Such actions are not fair for the students and faculty, therefore duty students must appear on time and be present at clinical time as assigned to them. Thus time management and readiness is crucial in any dental care
Pursuing a career in the dental public health field was a decision influenced by many factors starting by my passion for research. One of the main reasons for applying for my dental public health residency at Columbia University is the fact that it has a great research program, which is ranked among the top research facilities in the world. Columbia university’s dental public health residency department possess ample opportunities for research for those motivated to take advantage enough to r...
