Aria lay on her bed her eyes shut as she allowed herslef to be taken by the slock. Slock was the newest drug on the market not highly lethal, if taken at the right dosage however it is highly addictive and Aria had fallen prey to the black liquid and its powers. Her pupils dilated as the black liquid made its way through her bloodstream getting closer and closer to her heart, then it hit. Her breathing pace began to decrease steadily at the same time as her heart rate lowered meaning that the drugs were in full effect taking over her body and mind. She opened her eyes to see herslef sitting in a grass field by a lake which was surrounded by wild flowers, it was beautiful, pity that none of it was real. Her fingers slowly ran along the tip …show more content…
After several stretches she stood up and took off her red canvas boots, that were clearly old and worn frequently. She sat by the edge of the lake and slowly edged her feet further and further into the lake. The initial cold shocked her nerves causing her to pull her foot back but she instantly dipped it back in, her toes swallowed by the emerald coloured water. She didn't moved any further into the water but instead laid down staring at the sky above, the blue sky with fluffy white clouds scattered on it like a painting. Aria had often wondered what it would feel like to sit on a cloud, would you move on the cloud as the earth rotated or would you simply fall through and die? These are questions she often asked herslef despite the fact that they held no relevance in her day to day life she still couldn't quench her curiosity so she asked herslef these questions and one day she would answer them. Aria had been so wrapped up in her own thoughts that she didn't notice the fact that the sky was falling down, "Times up" she said with a sad smile as she dived into the emerald lake. The lake seemed bottomless …show more content…
If she wasn't careful she would drown soon, her time was running out. She noticed the outer layer of the sea begin to change into a murky green making her paradise become a nightmare. Finally the hole had stretched so the she could fit her body through and just like the portal it was it had teleported her to her bedroom without fail. She gasped for breath as her eyes sprang open, her gasping become non existent as time drew on. The fluffy purple pillow that she was laying on began to grow wet due to her hair which was soaked because of the lake. Her pupils returned to their normal size and her heart rate began to beat at the average pace once more. Aria was about to rest when her phone started vibrating, her boss was calling. She rolled her eyes and answered the phone "Aria there is an important story at Oak lane you need to cover, get my story and get it now!" He yelled every word to her causing her head to pound however she ignored the pain she was in and put on her black leather jacket before grabbing her bag and heading down to Oak lane. She called a taxi as her bike was still in the repair shop due to her last accident, she didn't care
The sea breeze whipped her hair in her face. She stood on a rock above the glistening sea. Bundled in jackets and scarves to shield her from the cold, she sat down to watch the setting sun. The sunset painted brilliant colors across the sky. Pinks and oranges and reds blended across the sky as if it was a blank canvas, that paint was dripping down. The ocean tide slid along the shore and retreated, each time it did so the ocean retreated farther out revealing a lot of sand. It was marvelous to see the hidden treasures beneath the sea. Suddenly a large wave was seen in the distance. A wall of water towering high. She stood up, not sure if she should run or stay. Running sounded best. She hardly had time to think before the towering wave advanced
The darkness of her bedroom crept into her body. As time progressed the sounds of the evening grew louder leaving her in a state of fear. Amongst the dark room she would see the shadow of someone standing outside her bedroom window. She didn’t know why someone would want to hurt her. Afraid to tell her parents she found refuge underneath the sheets of her bed. After several sleepless nights she spoke to her mother about the mysterious person outside her window. Her mother shrugged it off and told her that no one was there and not to worry. Her mother believed that this was either her imagination or eating too close to her bedtime. However, Elyn was determined to catch this mysterious man. Next, she enlisted the help of her brother Warren. Frightened they hid in the closet waiting to capture the bandit. Unfortunately, this heroic attempt was unsuccessful as the bandit never revealed himself to anyone but her. Soon it became apparent to everyone that no one was outside her window. But, these feelings of a watchful eye never fled her. As a result, Elyn spent many nights terrified underneath her sheets only falling a sleeping from
The Creature That Opened My Eyes Sympathy, anger, hate, and empathy, these are just a few of the emotions that came over me while getting to know and trying to understand the creature created by victor frankenstein in Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. For the first time I became completely enthralled in a novel and learned to appreciate literature not only for the great stories they tell but also for the affect it could have on someones life as cliché as that might sound, if that weren’t enough it also gave me a greater appreciation and understanding of the idiom “never judge a book by its cover.” As a pimply faced, insecure, loner, and at most times self absorbed sophomore in high school I was never one to put anytime or focus when it came time
Night shrouded the boulders from view; only their jagged tips visible over the pounding waves. Lucas huddled against the wind, gazing out over the dark waters—wild, uncontrollable, all-consuming. He massaged his temples, his thoughts spiralling out of control. Would it be painful? He wondered, to jump, to feel your skull cracking against the rocks? Surely no more painful, than to not jump.
Her flippers clapped as she waddled to the side of the boat she sat on the edge of the boat she looked out as the sunlight danced on the. On the count of three she pushed herself into the great ocean giving her a sense of felling free. The shimmering
Panic started to fill her thoughts as her body started to give in to the tiredness. She stopped abruptly as the path vanished into thin air leaving her abandoned in the middle of the eerie forest with its grey shadows reaching out around her. The path was gone and she stood on the edge of what appeared to be a large drop into the unknown with no easy way down, the noise of breaking twigs continued to get louder, whatever it was that was following her was getting closer. With her heart racing and no time to think clearly Ashley made the decision to
“That is very true.” She replied to his comment about people fearing what they don’t understand. She closed her eyes as a soft sigh escaped her lips. Remembering what her mother told her over and over again. Gothel often told the young Rapunzel that the world was full of cruel people that would only want to use her, that it was better to stay with her. Rapunzel wanted to make that decision for herself, after all she had the right to do so. Her mother on the other hand wasn’t going to make that easy for her. She kept all the doors and windows locked. She feared she was never going to be able to leave the apartment she shared with Gothel. One night she did with the help of none other than a thief. One that went by the name Flynn Ryder.
The arrival and vanishing of an unknown person caused little concern to Ayame. If he had been an assailant shed be worried, yet his presence was one of seeking not hostility. She had a feeling that if she had engaged shed have lost. Turning her attention to the battlefield she sent out her senses into the dust cloud covering the exterminated throne room. Her mind brushed against Destrox burning energy searing her senses back.
Finally at, Clary and Wayfarer finally made it to the castle from which the poor, frightened scared horse had escaped from earlier the previous night. A gasp escaped Clary's lips, as she looked up at the tall iron gates which seemed to be attached to the very wall itself. She now stood before the gigantic structure, which seemed to radiate and pulse with an aura of negative energy and pure coldness. A shudder ran through her small body, as a bolt of lighting flashed in the darkened sky, illuminating the grounds. Wayfarer stopped dead in his tracks not bothering to move another
Suddenly, she heard a loud bang, followed by something heavy falling to the ground. At first, she wanted to stay under so she can stay hidden from whatever is happening on land, but a feeling of concern overcame her. Reluctantly, she swam to the surface and faced towards her friend’s direction. ----------Chapter 3: Triple
Outside, the Howling swept across the dark forest and slowly the deep, colorless fog suffocated the land, from great arch trees - ancient and wise, to struggling briars – hardy and wicked, till the stubborn weeds – everlasting no more. Shadows flitted just beyond sight, faintly outlined against the pale mist. Impossible shapes, a scrambling of limbs, their countless eyes, watching, watching from afar. But they were getting closer, closer, closer. There was no moon tonight.
Emma screamed wildly as her kayak thrashed back and forth in the angry and revengeful waters. Earlier, when the sun had been shining, Emma had headed out on a short kayak trip, and now she was clinging to the beach ropes, and it was practically impossible to get back to the shore. And then, out of nowhere, her saving grace whirred out of the thick blanket of grey clouds.
Several minutes ago, a rather shabby bearded man came running into my living room. I do not know how he found access to the house or even what caused him to come running into my living room in the first place. He seemed frantic wearing a bathrobe, holding in one hand a towel, in the other, a book that had in large cheerful font the words: Don’t Panic. He claimed to be Arthur Dent a man from England trying to warn Earth about the coming Vogon attack.
Beneath the glowing sensation of the sun, lies water throughout the miles, but the question Pam would ask herself was what were the really wondered what would lie beneath the sea. Looking out of her balcony, into the ocean she remembered that there might have been human forms, with just no legs. For there where legend of years ago that they had to chooses between the sea and land. They had chosen the sea rather then the land for it was safer out in the water then in land. For what they chose they would give up the ability to walk but they received fins so they could swim. The myth her grandma had told her made her wonder about many things she saw. She became as curious as a cat, she would look in every corner of the house just to what she could find.
Closing her eyes, Alison inhaled, concentrating; feeling the all-too-familiar sensation of passing through and emerging from a wall of water, she opened her eyes. She was no longer in her chambers; rather she was on a rocky crater, devoid of any life except for her and another. A few feet away the Other stood. Though the shadow from his hooded-cape hid his face, she could tell that he was even less pleased with her than usual.
