The Great Lunch Disaster Madilyn Collins DING-DING “That’s the lunch bell children, line up.” My teacher exclaimed while standing and walking to the door. I got up and jumped into line so I was the first person. I was always the first person in line because lunch was the one time a day I couldn’t wait for. I opened the door and began to walk down the hallway leading the class to the cafeteria. A few paces before the entrance to the cafe I looked into the big glass windows that look directly into the table where I sit. ‘“Megan!!” I had completely forgotten that today was Megan’s first day back from her vacation at Deep Creek. I hadn’t seen her since the week before and missed her so much. I first met Megan when I switched to Rainbow …show more content…
I grabbed a big bunch of her dirty blonde hair and pulled it hard. “OW!” She turned back around and started to pull my hair and hit my arms. I was so angry that I grabbed the first this I could get my hand on. A spoon. What am I supposed to do with a spoon? I looked like an idiot sitting there holding a spoon as Megan was continuously wacking my arms. The sauce. I took the spoon and dipped it in the sauce. I held the handle of the spoon in my left hand and used my right pointer finger to push down on the front of the spoon. The second I let go, the red spaghetti sauce flung all over Megan’s white Hollister sweatshirt. Her favorite sweatshirt. “MADI!!” She began to cry and then I began to cry. It was about 5 seconds before all of the lunch aides were standing behind Megan and I. “Girls, you need to come with us.” We grabbed our plates and follows the ladies all the way to the principal's office. We got in there and were told to sit and wait for him. Before the aides had even left the principle had came out and got us. We went into his office and sat as he offered us a box of tissues for our running noises and red faces. After we started to calm down, he asked us what had
Sally, the teacher’s assistant in the 3-year-old class, serves lunch after assisting children in the bathroom without washing her hands.
THE PAST :.. In days gone by, the four species managed to live in perfect harmony. Witches, werewolves and vampires lived in secret, blending in with the humans on a daily basis - and the humans remained completely in the dark about their existence. It was after thousands of years of living this way, whilst everything was completely normal, that a small group of vampires decided that they’d had enough. They spent months devising plans.
I walk past the secretaries’ desks and I can feel their eyes shaming me. As I approach the principal’s office, I hear his gruff voice through the doorway. “Well, I apologize for this inconvenience, Miss Taylor. You are free to return to class.”
One rather beautiful day I head down to the building fields of Uruk with my only son Urnabe. He is 14 and he is turning out to be a skilled mason or at least better than his old man. When we get there I see that Binfem was already waiting for me.
The Story begins on a beach with three young children playing. Violet, 14, inventor; Klaus, 12, amateur researcher; and Sunny, baby, professional biter who has not totally developed speech. When they arrive to the beach it is a cloudy foggy overcast day. Violet is spending her time here skipping rocks, Klaus is studying tide pools and Sunny is just enjoying her time being at the beach with her older siblings. Even though it is not the greatest day in the world, the children are enjoying their time spent here at their favorite place. No other people are here on beach and this gives the children a place to be alone with their imagination. While playing a gentleman is approaching, but with the fog it scares the children because they cannot see who walks beneath the fog. As the figure gets closer they start to figure out who it is. The strange figure that lurked in the fog is Mr. Poe a friend of the family. Mr. Poe comes over to the children playing and explains to the children that their parents have perished in a fire that destroyed their home. Mr. Poe explains to the children that they will have to live with his family temporarily until he can figure out a plan as to where they will go.
The Creature That Opened My Eyes Sympathy, anger, hate, and empathy, these are just a few of the emotions that came over me while getting to know and trying to understand the creature created by victor frankenstein in Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. For the first time I became completely enthralled in a novel and learned to appreciate literature not only for the great stories they tell but also for the affect it could have on someones life as cliché as that might sound, if that weren’t enough it also gave me a greater appreciation and understanding of the idiom “never judge a book by its cover.” As a pimply faced, insecure, loner, and at most times self absorbed sophomore in high school I was never one to put anytime or focus when it came time
It wasn’t so much a cafeteria as it was a “great dining-hall.” People got in, got to eating, and got out. Food and drink were passed around, but there was no time for “lighting a good cigarette.” The women weren’t allowed the privilege of sinking into “the cushions in the window-seat” that the men were. There was a set schedule for this meal. As soon as everyone had finished up, they “scraped their chairs back” as the large doors swung “to and fro.” It wouldn’t be long before the entire cafeteria had been “emptied of every sign of food and made ready… for breakfast next morning.” There was no luxury at this dining-hall, just a modest
“Four seconds left in the game, the Tri-county Patriots are down by a touchdown. The Patriots just broke the huddle. They are lined up for the last play of the game. Star quarterback, Leonard Watson, takes the snap, he looks to throw… and he tucks it! He’s got some room, and blockers… The 30, the 20, the 10! Touchdown Patriots! There is no time left on the clock, the Patriots win! Another victory for the Tri-county High Patriots, and another amazing night for Leonard Watson!”
Water leaks from the ceiling from a large brown spot. The cook came out from the kitchen beating sweat from his face. He was not wearing a hairnet nor a hat. He yells at Blanche the waitress to come and take my order. She slowly came over to me and in a raspy voice asked, “What do you want!”.
“Thanks…” I picked up a piece of my bacon and threw it on the floor. It made
she was in all gray and had a big book in her hand. “I need Ryan Bochinski.¨ i thought but why would she need me,? Can't she see we are in the middle of a gingerbread man hunt. I slowly dragged me feet outside until i left the all clowfull classroom to the narrow white hallway that was outside my classroom --- as we walked the classroom i saw me classmates go down the art wing to look for the gingerbread man. I couldn't believe i'm missing the gingerbread man hunt with all my friends .
Alyssa had noticed that there were teacups instead of normal bowls because if she hadn’t already realized her mom
"Finally here..." I sighed when I saw the cafe shop in the distance. I tucked my phone back into my jacket pocket and sped up a bit towards it. School had ended just a few minutes ago. After saying goodbye to Lina and Jason, I made my way to the cafe as usual. When I got there, I held the door and waited a few seconds for an old lady to walk in before stepping inside. The heat from the store made me shiver. "Thank you.” the old lady said. I smiled and pulled my hood down. After about 10 minutes of getting raspberry iced tea and conversing with a couple classmates that were there as well, I walked up the stairs to the 2nd floor. I looked around before my eyes landed on an empty seat at a table where a boy sat. Hello again… Taking in a breath, I made my way to that table and the empty seat diagonally across from him.
Hannah read what was on the bulletin board and was in shock. "Ages 10-13 must wear uniforms and must buy lunch everyday at school, it's already bad enough having to stay in this community and not being allowed to explore what lies beyond this stupid community!" "Calm down Hannah it can be that bad." "Really the food is practically plastic and the uniforms are plaid and baggy, and you know I hate
Bonnie the secretary introduced me to my new teacher. As Mrs. Bonnie was leaving the room, my new teacher Mrs. Evaheart introduced me to the class. As I stared at the class I couldn’t help but feel overwhelmed. I wanted to go back to my old school where I had friends, knew almost everyone, a place where I didn’t feel lonesome, a place anywhere but here. As I saw each and every one of my new classmates faces the utter dread that I felt slowly began to fade as I saw a familiar face. Seeing one of my former friends give me a renewed hope that maybe being in this school won’t be so bad after
