The Day I Went to Yosemite National Park One day we went to Yosemite National Park to visit again for my birthday because I asked to go there again. It took a very long time to get there. When we got there we had to pay at the main entrance, the park ranger said, "$30 dollars please", in a Texas voice. The park ranger said,"Enjoy your way into beautiful Yosemite. But the day before we had to pack lunch, fruit, vegetables, and clothes just in case we got wet in the water. But then we began our journey to Yosemite again. We found a spot to get wet but the water was very very cold so we tried to find another spot and we did. The water was so warm like a brownie out of a oven that's how warm it was. So then I got in the water with my brother …show more content…
and we started skipping rocks. In the spot that we were at there were ducks so I feed them bread crumbs. One of them started to fight over a piece of bread crumbs. One of the duck came and just grabbed the piece of bread right out of my hand, it felt pretty weird. My mom said, "Oh my gosh look the duck it just grabbed it right out of Natalie's hand”. After we got out of the water we went to a pretty spot where you can see a view of the Half Dome. Next, we went where there was a frozen waterfall and actually my dad almost fell into the frozen water that day but I was right in front of him so I pushed him back, so I told my dad, "You're lucky dad. After that it got pretty cold so I asked my dad if he could take us right back to the warm place and he did. When we got there we just relaxed and ate lunch just like me. After, we went to this huge store where you could buy souvenirs and a lot more there. We got in the store and I bought a keychain that has Yosemite pictures and animals on it. After, we left the store we went to a hike called Glacier Point Hike. After, a little while on the Glacier Point Hike it got really scary you could see down and it would take about 2 hours to drop. But I couldn’t take it anymore so I told my dad to take me back because I was getting pretty scared. Then my second oldest brother, his name is Edgar Centeno, almost fell off a cliff, but then a park ranger came and said,”Is everything alright”,we said, “Yah’’. My dad said, "You’ve got to be more careful Edgar". My brother Jose said something when Edgar almost fell of the cliff he said,"EDGAR", really loud. When I saw that my brother almost fell I was almost in tears because I love him so much I don't want nothing to happen to any of my family members.
Then we left, but on our way to the exit we saw a baby Grizzly Bear people were there taking pictures of the baby Grizzly Bear. I said, “OMG CAN WE GET DOWN AND TOUCH HIM PRETTY PLEASE”! in a screaming voice. But I couldn’t because we had to leave Yosemite I was almost in tears because I loved Yosemite so much i’d never wanted to leave beautiful Yosemite. After we left it started to rain a lot even with lighting strikes and thunder bolts. Then we got home and I went to bed. I’m so scared of lighting I was throwing up yellow vomit I mean really yellow vomit, But, then I fell asleep and it kind of went away but it didn’t, so then I saw a light in my room I got so scared I threw up again about 10 times at 2:00 in the morning so my mom had to give me medicine for me. Good thing my mom was there to give me my medicine like I said the paragraph before this one. I threw up a couple more times but it was just from the lighting strikes. My mom said, “You survived” but just playing around. I told my mom, "I love Yosemite except for the part when I threw up that part was horrible", after that I told her, I love our family so so
much.
It took about an hour to climb to the top of the mountain because the higher we got, the steeper it was and the more challenging it got to climb because of the loose gravel and rocks. Once we reached the top of the mountain we sat down on the floor to eat some hot Cheetos and drink some of our Gatorade. After catching our breath, we began to take pictures and we saw a skunk on the opposite side of the mountain away from the park. We had never seen a skunk before so we were eager to take a picture with it. As we began our journey down towards the skunk, there was a huge rock on the edge of the mountain that I wanted to stand on and take a picture so that I could capture the beautiful scenery in the background. Smiley wanted to take the same picture as well but when he stood on the rock, it tilted over and rolled down the mountain along with my brother. He was holding the lantern when he fell so I no longer had any light. The only light source available was the screen on my phone and the flash on the camera. The first thing I did was take a picture of the bottom of the mountain to see where my brother was at. To his luck, he only suffered a broken leg. So he wouldn’t think about the pain,
I was sitting with my friend, Pistol on one of the bucking shoots watching the barrel race.
Located in the popular Yosemite National Park, Yosemite Falls is the tallest waterfall in California. Every year, mother nature’s breathtaking beauty attracts millions of people from around the world. People hike for three long and fatiguing hours in anticipation of witnessing forceful water rushing down the steep mountain from 2,425 feet above. Last summer, my family and I backpacked through the Yosemite Falls Trail and I came to learn what a truly exhausting experience it is.
My first trip to Yosemite was a time where I learned about adaptation. I had applied for an internship up at Evergreen lodge which is just outside of Yosemite. They bring the candidates up to see if you are okay in the environment. When we arrived near Yosemite the area was full of wonderful lush green pine trees immediately next to it was scorched earth. In the valley I found out that the area had adapted to fires and would grow back.
Halfway up it was beginning to look doubtful, the wind was picking up and everyone was getting out rain gear to prepare for the storm. I voiced my doubts to Phil and he said we might as well keep going until the lighting got too close. So we did. The thunder grew in volume and the echoes magnified the noise to a dull roar sometimes. Then suddenly it began to ebb. The wind died down and lightening came less frequently. I exchanged relieved looks with Phil after a bit, but kept the pace up--I didn’t want to take chances. Eventually it hit us, but by then it was nothing more then a heavy rain. We kept moving, if slower, and made it over the ridge with no other problems. That night I enjoyed the meal a little more and slept a little deeper realizing how much is important that easily goes unnoticed until something threatens to take it away.
Yosemite National Park: the trees grew far above the extent of my upward gaze, touching the clouds with leafy fingers, delicate raindrops falling slowly from their outstretched branches onto my upturned cheeks. Warm morning sunlight flowed from the fiery eye peeking over the mountaintop, waking the forest. The rays of light shone through each crystalline raindrop as it fell, fire dancing in the mist. In the distance, birds happily announced the dawn of a new day with a triumphant song, filling the fresh mountain air with a soft and gentle ambience. Rainclouds of the purest natural silver unfurled across a liquid golden sky, a misty wind causing the trees to tremble, their leaves falling, spilling their nighttime dewdrops onto the rocks far below.
shriek. I ran over to Susan and Julie and hid my head. Susan started laughing

It was the last Saturday in December of 1997. My brother, sister, and I were chasing after each other throughout the house. As we were running, our parents told us to come and sit down in the living room. They had to tell us something. So, we all went down stairs wondering what was going on. Once we all got down stairs, the three of us got onto the couch. Then, my mom said, “ Well…”
“Your father and I have something to tell you kids, and we do not wish for anybody to become upset” declared my mother.
It was warm that day, but as the sun began to set it began to cool off. This led to a storm coming right at us. From our perspective, we were able to watch the storm form and start to come over us. It was amazing to have the colors of the sunset mixed with the clouds forming across the sky. Eventually, the storm reached us. We could see the rain starting to come down, soon reaching the edge of the lake. As it worked its way across the water, it looked as if a wall was coming at you finally just soaking you with the full force of the rain storm. There was another storm that occurred on the same trip, but this one came out of no where. We were outside in an open area playing badminton in our swim trunks. Then all of a sudden it started raining, but we continued playing anyway. Soon though, it started to hail, starting with just tiny pebbles eventually getting to be marble sized at its largest. This was by no means a dangerous hail storm, but it made me think about the formation of hail. This hail, started in the clouds as a water drop, then began to circulate through the cloud. Eventually it reached a specific size where the cloud could no longer hold onto it and it fell all the way down to the earth plopping down harmlessly on the ground. It truly is amazing how all these things happen
I raised my arms in anger, ?I?m talking to you.? Instantly his arm swung swiftly, like steel, it impacted on mine. Fear bulged from my eyeballs, he grasped both my hands and heaved me up. My feet dangled in the air.
Tears were pouring down my cheeks when all of a sudden in came the physiatrist. I got mad and said "you killed my parents, didn’t you? You killed my sister, didn’t you?"
When he first pointed it out I assumed that he was pulling my leg. When I did reach up to touch my face, I pulled my hand down and saw that it was wet with my own blood. I had kept a level head until then, but when I saw the red liquid staining my hand, no matter how much I hate to admit it, I started crying like the little third grader that I was.
