Creative Story: Grandpa
We were going to Las Vegas for vacation. I was looking foward to having
a lot of fun there. When we finally got to Las Vegas,it felt like an oven jacked
up all the way. When we got to the room it felt like when you open a
refrigerator. Then we went to see all the major attractions, like Cesar's
Palace, this was one of my favorites because when you go inside the roof looks
like the sky inside of a building. I also took some pictures in front of the
hotel near the water fountain. The MGM Grand was my second favorite because
when you go inside it this thing were you go in and walk around and see the
play Wizard of Oz. I also liked thePyramid because outside the is this image of
a persons face that appears on the splashing water. That image was all done
with Lazers. Las Vegas is a nice place to see a lot of cool hotels and sites.
Then it was even better because it was at night and all the hotels were lit up.
It looked like it was Christmas everyday there. Every single hotel was lit up
of all different pictures. We had fun seeing that but it was time to go back to
the hotel room.
When we got back the front desk informed us that somebody had called
from San Fransisco. We all had an idea of what it was about. My mom and grandma
were both sobbing. They were crying in way that didn't show. My dad and I felt
very sad even though we didn't know my grandpa very well. Before we had gone to
Las Vegas we sat down with my aunt and my mom said " if anything happened to my
grandpa to call us at the hotel room." When we heard that they had called we
were all sweating as if it was raining right above us. When we called back it
seemed like an eternity. My mom called, you could hear every button that she
punched in. We also could hear the ringing from the call. Finally, my aunt
picked up and started talking to my mom about how they called from Lima, Peru
saying that my grandpa was waiting to die until they got there. So that same
night we called Hertz and said that we had to get back to San Fransico and we
were going to leave the car tomorrow. There was a big fit because my dad had
already paid for three days but we only used it one day.
tremendous amount of sweat that would run down my face while I stood out in
When we left the hotel, my parents had a tough time finding the theme park. There were so many overpasses and lanes, my dad missed the exit a few times. Luckily, my dad finally got off at the right exit. When we first arrived, I was so excited. I had never seen so many seen so many people in one place, and the climate was very different compared to El Paso. I remember listening to the roars of the roller coasters and the screams of the people on them. We finally got into the park. As we entered, I remember it being very humid and moist. There were so many different smells coming from the restaurants.
When I walked inside the front door something didn’t seem right. The feeling of sorrow overwhelmed the house. It was so thick I could literally feel it in the air. Everyone was motionless. They were sulking;I was befuddled. The most energetic people in the world, doing absolutely nothing. I repeatedly asked them what was wrong. After an hour or so, my dad pulled me aside. He said that my Aunt Feli had passed away last night. My mind went for a loop, I was so confused. I thought that he was joking, so I replied “You’re lying, don’t mess with me like that.” and punched his shoulder softly while I chuckled. My dad quickly started tearing up and said, “There...
That night I was disoriented. My mother wasn’t home and I wanted to call her but I couldn’t recall her number,
We were interrupted by a phone call from my dad. My mom was still joking and in a silly mood when she started talking to my dad. Suddenly the conversation turned from joking to dead silence and my mom started crying. She tearfully asked, "Is she ok? Was she alone?" I was thinking my sister went riding and fell off her horse or that something had happened to my grandma.
When we got there I was pleased to be out of the car. We went to my grandma and grandpa’s house because we didn't have a house yet. My mom
were in was. We picked up my two younger brothers and rushed to my God Mothers
All of the adults knew us by name and they acted as a combined parent when we were in their sight. I remember when Mrs. Boone would chase us off the rickety fence surrounding her place. She would shoo us off like flies and then feed us fresh app...
As we arrived I got more and more excited like a little kid on Christmas. Everyone was so anxious to jump out the truck to get some fresh air that no one notice that we had to unload all that luggage. The warm summer air ran across me so swiftly and the sound of the cars in traffic on the street next to us was like music to my ears. The sound of the beach and the waves and seagulls ring through my ears. I loved the sound of the big city. We stood and waited
I remember exactly when my dad called my sister and me in the living room to tell us the news. My dad’s face was a face I had never seen before, looked as pale as ice and chocked like if he had seen a ghost. I could see there was something wrong but nothing could have prepared me for that kind of news. The words came out and I thought at first it was a joke. I asked him the question and already knew the answer. My sister started crying and my dad fell in tears too. I couldn’t cry, just wouldn’t come out, I was too stunned by the horrible news.
From time to time, I like to look at picture from the past to remember and to learn about my childhood past. Some are even taking before color pictures existed,
I only had the privilege to go down there with him once. My grandpa also taught me how to drive. When I was only 14 he took me to the farm in his Ram 1500 and he let me drive around the property just to learn how to drive. Then one day after he got tired he told me to just drive him home. so that was my first time on the highway at 14 and in a full sized truck. That was pretty scary and pretty dangerous. When i ended up getting my first car he taught me everything about it. He would get out there and roll around on the ground showing me things about it. Thats where I learned the most about cars. One thing about my grandpa was he smoked his whole life, and it showed. As he got older and older it started showing more and more. I 'll never forget the last day I was with him. we were at his house watching sports and he was yelling at the tv like he always did. He needed to go take a nap so I went home and less than an hour later I got a call from my grandma and she told
grandmother coming home from work. Soon my real mom came by to “have a serious
The whole drive there I was just wondering what I was going to do and see over there. I mean I thought I thought I was excited about my plane ride there, but that wasn?t even half of what I was feeling at that time. Once I saw the roller coasters as we drove to Universal?s Island of Adventure my face just lit up like the sun.
I know that my grandfather would be proud of how I have done my part in helping the society and community. He and I share a similar dream of having a world with less suffering. He taught me to follow and fulfill my dreams. Everything he taught me, I have applied to my life. My grandfather motivated me to change the world and to be the best person I can be.
