Craft

Craft, the word has been with man for ages. There are unique mysteries in life that are usually provoking the true nature of reality, as us humans become aware of it. The genealogy of a man is equal to the idea that the term "craft" has evolved so beyond the understanding of the human mind. A skill in the form of an advanced, detailed, or progressive (movement) in the ability to perform with great skill in one view of behavioral science cannot be determined by meaning alone. It is a difficult word to be defined.
The term craft I would mainly determine to be defined as the assemblage of objects that has some sort of interconnection to art, but it depends on the complexity of what is being built. After doing the many projects in class I have many different views on how craft is defined. A good example that would sort of involves both, primitive art and art deco in a small sense. Some of the African statues that are carved would have some geometric designs, (which relates to the way in which the style of art deco slightly falls in) is that would sometimes mean something in its own way. A person who could be making it for any kind of reason would usually make these sculptures by hand. Using his or her tools to be cutting into the material so that they can successfully make something with such craftsmanship, worth looking at. That is craft. Something like a fireplace with a few different color tiles that make a minor design, I deeply hesitate to call art or craft because of the fact that it seems to be so simple and isn’t really hand crafted completely. That is just one example of art deco. When you look at the way some of the different buildings interior is made, in terms of the sculptures, paintings and furniture you may have a completely different view in what you think in your mind.
It is art fulfilling its role in society. It is art that brings the moral issues. It is art that makes us human.
If I were to ask you what is art, and how can one find it? What would you say? Well if it were me being asked those question, I would simply say that art to me is a form of a picture; a visual painting or model of some design and it could be found all among us. You may define it differently only because art could be defined in many ways. I could simply say that art to me is a form of a picture; a visual painting or model of some design. Well according to an article written by Shelley Esaak, an art history expert she mentioned that art has a way of stimulating different parts of our brains to make us laugh or incite us to riot, with a whole gamut of emotions in between. She also mentioned that art gives us a way to be creative and express ourselves. [1]
When we hear the word “Art” certain images come to mind. We think of great masterpieces of epic battles, and cathedral walls depicting angels and demons. This however, is a very small part of the art of the world. One form of artwork has been seen in every civilization, on every continent; Folk art. Folk art at its root is art including paintings, textiles, furniture, and carvings done by a country's indigenous people. These pieces are often functional, and serve a purpose on top of being aesthetically pleasing.The techniques used by these people are often passed down generation to generation, and originate in the community itself. This means most of the artisans do not have any formal training in their craft. Many took apprenticeships, or learned from watching village elders.
Shakespeare’s Sonnet #23 is addressed to the lovely young man, called WH. The speaker is trying to convey his complex feeling towards his lover. He is tongue-tied in the young man’s company and he is trying to explain this awkwardness and express his complex emotions in this sonnet. It is, the speaker says, due to the hugeness of his love, that makes it too heavy to carry. For the author this sonnet is a silent representation of his inner voice. To show the complexity of the situation, he compares poet’s role as a lover to an actor’s timidity onstage. He asks WH to read these silent lines and explains that love will give him the insight to read between lines. The sonnet consists of 14 lines, which are splitted into octave and a sestet, and has typical for Shakespeare’s sonnets rhyme scheme: a-b-a-b, c-d-c-d, e-f-e-f, g-g. He uses first two quatrains to establish a problem and then resolves it in a third quatrain, summarizing solution in the following couplet.
While CBT has many advantages, it alone does not encompass all of the concepts I believe are necessary to tackles a client’s needs. Therefore, I draw upon concepts from various theories to obtain a better idea of what we are working towards. Pulling from Reality therapy, a key concept I utilize is focusing on what the client is doing and how to get them to evaluate whether they’re present actions are working for them. CBT does use some form of this is the sense that one must examine and establish their cognitive misconceptions; however, I prefer to pull from Reality therapy because CBT tends to do so by focusing on the past. I am a firm believer that while the past can shape who you are, it does very little good to remain focused on it. Focusing on overt behavior, precision in specifying goals of treatment, development of specific treatment plans, and objective evaluation of therapy outcomes all come from Behavior therapy (Corey, 2013, p. 474). Behavior therapy is highly structured much like that of CBT. I utilize this aspect of Behavior therapy because high level of structure enables me to closely observe where a client is currently and where they are headed. Lastly, I pull from Person-Centered therapy as the final key concept of my counseling approach. PCT focuses on the fact that client’s have the potential to become aware of their problems and resolve them. This Person-Centered therapy concept has overlap with
My definition of art, while short, would be anything that is aesthetically pleasing to a person. But, who defines what art is, and what makes art work a form of expression? I think the cliché beauty is in the eye of the beholder, stands true when it comes to determination of what art is. With specific relations to video games, I believe that these creations are a form of art because of the amount of detail that is put forth to develop a world and an atmosphere to engross a person in. Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) is based on the concept that behavior change may be achieved through altering cognitive processes. The assumption underlying the cognitively based therapeutic techniques is that maladaptive cognitive processes lead to maladaptive behaviors and changing these processes can lead to behavior modification. According to Mahoney (1995), an individual's cognitions are viewed as covert behaviors, subject to the same laws of learning as overt behaviors. Since its inception, cognitive-behavior modification has attempted to integrate the clinical concerns of psychodynamic psychotherapists with the technology of behavior therapists (Mahoney, 1995). Cognitive-behaviorists have demonstrated an interrelationship among cognitive processes, environmental events, and behavior, which is conveyed in the context of one's social behavior. Psychotherapists in North America endorse cognitive-behavioral interventions as the second most widely used treatment approach (i.e., with an eclectic approach being endorsed as first) (Bongar & Buetler, 1995).

When looking at “Sonnets XXIX” and “Sonnet XXX”, both similarities and differences rise to the surface. As both Sonnets are written by William Shakespeare they share a common bond. “Sonnet XXX” also follows right after “Sonnet XXIX” which helps keep the consistency as they were written around the same times. Both of the Sonnets are written to the young man who he praises and looks up to. Shakespeare does not feel as if he can live up to the young man and all that he has which makes him feel upset about himself. The speaker talks about crying throughout the Sonnets allowing the readers to see his true feelings. Finally through repetition and the use of alliterations, it is easy to follow the Sonnets to understand what the speaker is feeling. It is all tied together with a concise rhyming couplet which shows his understanding and accepting of what is happening. Throughout the Sonnets, Shakespeare allows the readers to view the inferiority and insecurities of the speaker, prove his point by using crying and sound devices enhances the writing by using literary devices while bringing them together with a strong rhyming couplet.
I am schooled as a decorative painter and never really worked with concepts. I love using the techniques, and I mainly focused on how to use them and not on the concept itself. For example, one of my works was a pyramid of glass. Completely handmade, decorated with different techniques. Art can be defined in many ways by an individual. One can say that any creative output by a person is considered art. Wilson states “the exclusive role of the arts is to intensify aesthetic and emotional response. Works of art communicate feeling directly from mind to mind, with no intent to explain why the impact occurs” (218). A simple definition may be that art is the physical expression of the ideals formed by the mind.
Stone carving is an ancient process that has evolved over time. There is a specific set of skills needed on order to become a successful stone carving artist, however anyone can obtain this set of skills through much practice and a basic understanding of the principals of art and design. Stone as a material can be very diverse and to learn the technique the artist first must know the media they will be working with. After learning the media an artist must know the technique, the process, the tools needed, and the limitations of the material.
So to answer the question you need to think what is art? To me art is a form of representing a person’s ideas which can be in any form of media whether it be a painting, a film, or a song, a novel or a photograph. For it to be classed as art though it must provoke emotion or thought and show signs of creativity.
