The conflict type is person vs. person.

The conflict is between Rick and his new dog Cracker. In the book Rick struggles at the position of dog handler and has gotten a dog-named Cracker who he is having troubles with. At first he did not get along with her and she was very stubborn to train. Through his hard work she and him became the best dog team in their whole battalion.

Identify and describe climax from your novel.
The climax of the story happens when Rick is shot in the leg and Cracker isn’t able find Rick so she runs off. Rick does everything that he can to try and find Cracker before he has to go back to the U.S. He finally found out that Cracker had been found in Vietnam and was safe. Analyze that characters motives.
My character of study is Cracker because she is the main character in the story. In the book Cracker is a dog. She is a very pampered dog that doesn’t like to listen to anyone other than her owner. She is sent to training camp to become a Vietnam dog handling team. Cracker doesn’t listen to Rick at first but then starts to like him and listens. She becomes one of the best dogs in the camp. The is sent to Vietnam.

Make a plot description-chronological format.
1. In the story the book starts as with Cracker’s original owner, Will.
Will couldn’t keep Cracker so he had to find a way to get rid of him.
Then his parents called up an enlisting place where they would take Cracker and train her to be a Vietnam dog.
Next, the people came and got Cracker and took him to a training camp.
When she got to the camp, she was partnered up with Rick.
At first Rick and Cracker didn’t really get along.
Cracker was a very stubborn dog that was very spoiled and didn’t listen to him very good.
After awhile of very hard training and lots of stress, Rick and Cracker started to get along.
