I believe that there are many reasons that I am well qualified to receive this “Courage to Grow” scholarship. One main point would be my excellence in leadership and community service. I currently serve as senior class Vice President and President of the Future Teachers of America club at Auburn High School. I am a class representative for our Student Council and am very involved with the children’s ministry at my local church, serving as a Kids Camp counselor and VBS assembly leader. Another reason I believe I should receive this scholarship is for my outstanding academic achievements. I have been inducted into the National Honors Society, Spanish National Honors Society and the Mu Alpha Theta Mathematics Honors Society. I have also received
various awards such as: nomination for ACCESS student of the year and “Most outstanding Male Member” for my high school show choir. I started my first job at the age of 15 in order to purchase a car for myself. I work in order to pay for my own gas and insurance which is proof of my independence and dedication to work. I have balanced my jobs with Academics, maintaining a 4.0 through high school, Theatre, Choir, and most important service to my community

In a world where most college freshmen do not graduate or dropout, i feel like it would mean to much more to me to graduate and be able to say I got my degree. studies have said that half of freshman will not complete there degree, another study said that 25% of freshmen will change their major before they finish their sophomore year. If i was given this scholarship money it would put me in a place where hopefully I won't become just another statistic. Another reason a college degree is important for me to achieve is so that i will be respected in my work industry of choice. When you are in a place of work, there is always someone who everyone looks up to because they know the most about certain things, but more often than not that person has the highest degree in his or her field. If I was awarded this scholarship i would be more capable of being that person because i would not have to worry about leaving school to figure out how I will pay off my

I strongly believe I deserve the “Courage to Grow” Scholarship, because ever since I can remember, my education has always been the first priority in my life. Being a determined and conscientious student, I maintained a 3.8 G.P.A. out of a 4.0 scale throughout High School, earning myself a spot on the Honor Roll list every semester. Even though learning does not come easy for me, because of my ADD, I never give up on my dreams. I also participated in many extracurricular activities such as Key Club- a volunteering organization, Book Club, and the Cheerleading team. Being a member of these clubs not only taught me leadership and communication skills, but also how to be a well-rounded student.

As I look at the title Courage to Grow I asked myself , “Do I possess that courage to grow?” That courage I need to begin my journey into my college life and know that I will be successful through such journey. Life Happens Scholarship In July it will be two years since I got a call from my dad that turned my world upside down. With the tone in his voice, I could tell that something was extremely wrong. As soon as my sister and I got home, he sat us down and told us both that our mother had taken her life. As soon as those words left his mouth, I was speechless.
Scholarship Essay I believe setting goals for your future is important because it sets goals for you to reach. People need to learn that you need to see yourself in the future. This will help you reach your goals. Picturing your future can help you set up for many things.
There is this one quote that I also have in mind and believe, "Impossible is just a word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary.

Before I even set foot in kindergarten my mother, a college dropout, always told me that “honor roll wasn’t an option” and that I would be attending college in the future and achieving a degree. Most of the time I made these requirements. Most of the time I was awarded honor roll or had a newly edited list of colleges to attend, but sometimes life got in the way of my dreams of achieving success.
