This information essay discusses and explores what will be conferred about on the topic of The Council Of Trent. The Council Of Trent had began on December 13th 1545. The Council Of Trent had played an important role in determining the outcome of the counter-reformation. The counter-reformation was called by Pope Paul III who was pope from 1534-1549. The Council Of Trent was between 1545 until 1563 , in Trento (hence being called the council of Trent) located in Northern Italy. The Council Of Trent was one of the Roman Catholics most important ecumenical councils. The Council of Trent was accepted by roman catholicism and was convoked by Pope Paul III. The popes that were alive during this council were Pope Gregory XIII (the 13th), Pope Paul III (the 3rd), Pope Julius III (the 3rd) and both Pope Pius’ (4th and 5th).

The first which began before The Council Of Trent was the excommunication of German reformation leader Martin Luther. The First Session of The Council Of Trent which was from 1545 until 1547. The councils had began and had discussed and said that everything that was spoken about and the actions that were made by The Council Of Trent had been right but they weren't so sure about weather the bishops were ought to visit their bishoprics (diocese) at least once. The leader and president of The Council Of Trent at this time period was Pope Paul III (the 3rd).
The second session The Council Of Trent had held was from 1551 until 1552. The leader and president of the second session was now Pope Julius III (the 3rd). In the second session the council sorted out the church’s position on communion, but was still indecisive about the bishops and their bishoprics. In 1555 until 1559 There had been no council and a 4 year comfort break
