Recommended: American prison system

I will list and discuss the problems presented to our correctional workers today as institutional staff respond to the changing attitudes and expectations of the American public.
One problem is we need more funding to defeat the problem of overcrowding to get more programs.Training is getting cut, so how will we pay for these prison. We cannot seem to pay for
it because so many prisons are being closed
The second problem is training which I just talked about it being cut through cutting funding.Most police can not go three days without training because without training police will forget what to do and with the public attitude being not an acceptable. They need training to show how to deal with these problems.

We can account for this because according to The Price of Prisons|Oklahoma on Vera.org, here in the state of Oklahoma the Oklahoma Department of Corrections called for $441.8 million taxpayer dollars in the 2010 fiscal year. The actual cost for the maintenance of the prisons called for $453.4 million taxpayer dollars. This is about $11.6 million taxpayer dollars over the set budget for the year. This proves that there are too many things that need to be taken care of in these facilities. Much of the money went to paying employee benefits and to capital costs which is also stated in this article. Instead of using the money to pay for employee benefits they should be using it to pay for what the inmates need. This causes a strain on citizens because they are obligated into paying more taxes.
