Correctional Officer Responsibilities

What is a correction officer? And what kind of responsibilities do they carry each day they go behind the walls of corrections. I can only imagine the thoughts of some who took on the responsibilities of governing over prisoners who come from different backgrounds; and end up in prison. The ability to lead, instruct and supervise inmates as well as having a sympathetic attitude, but not only that, officers with the ability to act and make decisions quickly, while under stress, especially in emergency situations. The correction officers are not the only people who have responsibilities in corrections; there are those who educate, those who tend to the medical services of the inmates, and those who manage daily routine of the facility and

They help inmates get ready to release back into society and try and help rehabilitate them and at the same time help reduce reentry. Treatment specialists work at developing plans for inmates and help with their want and needs, while making their transition back into society as smooth as possible especially when the inmate have to deal with mental health, anger and substance abuse issues or some kind of mental and emotional disorder. Correctional treatment specialist also helps inmates with education and career skills because they know that it makes it hard for inmates to get ahead if they lack in areas so they will help inmates to learn skills that will help them to get

What I believe violate the principle is providing services that don’t make since like college education to some will who probably will never get to use it or to someone who is passing time. I think inmates were getting a free ride when there were people who had to work for it, in my opinion a high school education is sufficient for everyone in prison. If they truly want to change their life when they get out of prison they can pursue a college education and any other service that is not affecting their well being. The case where a sex change was important enough for a state to pay for it is a least eligibility, to me, if it was that important, why was it not done before placed in prison. To some a strict adherence to this principle might think that it will confound rehabilitation efforts and to others probably think it would not effect them at all. I personally think that once you become incarcerated you should pay back to society not continue to take from it. If a person wanted a college education they had the opportunity to get it, just like the sex change if it was a problem with their mental health then why wait until your prison to get one, to me these are not the important necessities that will make a person live better once they get out of prison, to me it is the will to want more and stop thinking that someone owe them something and get the help that they really need, such as
