Most of my time is spent in the central receiving lab, either receiving various types of specimens or assisting other people with their work. Most decisions that are made on a daily basis are centered around whether or not certain specimens are acceptable for processing based on policies, or determining whether or not doctors or nurses taking care of a certain patient in questions needs to be contacted to address an issue. Feeling comfortable making calls and being knowledgeable enough to thoroughly inform care takers of patients is something that I have not felt comfortable doing up until the mid to latter half of my time on coop.
In the first couple of months on coop, my days were mainly spent in the blood draw area as a greeter. Although
My studies through the IU School of Medicine have allowed me to become qualified for this position. I rotated for a month in the gross room, autopsy, and frozen section. They all taught me how to work with the residents and attendings and the different skills involved in each rotation.
The experience that I already have is in CNA which I know how to take blood pressure manually and also give bed baths and dress patients. I can also take vitals and be emotional support for the patients and their families. I can give them their meals and feed them and document their condition and any health problems or concerns. I can also assist them to their wheelchairs or in the beds. And I can examine their bodies for any scares rashes burns or anything that I may think that is concerning.
As part of my HNC study, I will look to define and discuss the importance of reflection. I will be using a variety of sources such as books, web pages, articles and journals in order to gather information. Which in return will allow me to explain why reflection is of such importance.
...to communicate with your patient in order for them to be updated with their family’s sickness. And also have compassion towards them. You are likely to see a lot of injuries and scenarios play out among patients that have been admitted to the hospital. There are many achievements in this field that you may accomplish. And priorities that you have to deal with. For instants your time you have to adjust your schedule.
Sir, I am honored by the privilege to once again serve in 4th Armored Brigade Combat Team (ABCT). Over of the last 30 days, I had an opportunity to reconnect, and reflect on the current state of the Brigade. The 4th ABCT has a rich history of success and glory. It is my goal to put in place the systems and practices for this great organization to exceed all past and present accomplishments. As a result of my assessment, I identified three areas of focus that will improve our organization: a unit vision, a change in organizational culture and climate, and building organizational teams. I have no doubt that with the implementation of these three areas of focus, I will be the transformational leader that 4th ABCT needs as we prepare for the upcoming National Training Center (NTC) rotation and tackle the task of the Regionally Aligned Forces (RAF) mission.
I work full-time as a certified nursing assistant with patients who have all types of medical conditions. My job description is to help feed and serve patients meal. Also, help with their daily living and keep them intact with their hygiene. Take their vital signs when I come in the morning. Of course I do a lot more, but most importantly, I observe any changes in patient's conditions or
20. What do I do if my child, spouse, coworker, next-door neighbor or friend comes to my department when it’s my turn to arrive, admit, transfer, place an order, discharge, see, treat, code, bill, do a quality review, infection control consult, or do a data extraction on a patient?
This reflective essay will lay emphasis on one of the learning needs I have developed during my two week taster placement in hospital. Reflection helps an individual build upon their skills and makes room for self-criticism as he or she can contemplate upon actions and make relevant changes (Taylor, 2000). I will be applying the “What”, “So what” and “Now what” model of reflection by Driscoll (2000) in this piece of work because it is a more coherent and comprehensible approach to follow when writing a reflective account and is also an easier guide to writing reflections. The learning need I chose to reflect on from my learning plan is having a better understanding of diabetes and the 6 basic medications used in treating the condition since it is a common illness on the ward I am have been allocated on for my first placement. The timescale set for achieving this objective was by the end of my two week placement that is from 27th January to 9th February and I achieved it with the help of a host of factors. In this assignment, all the names of the patients and wards have been omitted and indicated with letters and numbers for confidentiality reasons as stated in the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) code of conduct (2008). The paper will primarily touch on the type 2 diabetes and furthermore on the achievement on my learning need.
As a result, I was promoted to a Patient Care Technician in a heart failure unit. In the meantime, I continue to multi-task in a fast-paced environment where I am responsible for twelve to sixteen patients and practice proper techniques in the unit. Each day I gain knowledge by working closely with the registered nurses as well as with patients, therefore obtaining medical experience that has prepared me for the role of a
When reflecting on the past semester of English 2328, there are several lessons I feel I have learned which have contributed to the development of my intellect. Throughout this semester, I have repeatedly encountered various lessons that I feel have the potential to advance academically, personally and professionally. I attribute the lessons I have learned to the nature of the assignments and the method of teaching used in this class. To clarify, I feel that I have broadened my knowledge, learned the importance of my personal responsibilities, and learned to interpret differing opinions. Combined, I have recognized that this class has helped me grow, not only as a student, but as an individual as well.
in a short period of time, started interacting with all kinds of people. Now working as medical coordinator
It requires a great deal of strength, not only physically but emotionally as well. There is a great deal of physical work involved, such as lifting patients and equipment. You are on your feet most of of the day, and there is little patience for idle hands. Patients will often require much patience, and excellent people skills are a must. There will also be situations that will pull on the heart strings, however, we are there to do a job, and to do it to the greatest of our ability. Yes, I was aware of most of these requirements, but I don’t believe that I understood them to the fullest detail, and I probably won’t, unless I experience them first-hand. Fortunately, now, I have been educated on expecting such circumstances, and will be better equipped to handle them when such situations
Working in groups is challenging at times. Other times it is very rewarding. We are so focused on life that we do not take time to reflect on things as much as we should. Being in a Groups class has opened my eyes to a whole new world. I have begun to question, explore, and even understand how things work. I even get how they work sometimes. Not only is there a process involved in making individual decisions, process is involved in group decisions as well. This paper attempts give insight into my reflection of my group decision process.
This lesson is designed to review and reinforce a few important concepts about plants (e.g. Needs, parts, sequence of planting) and to also guide the students through applying a few scientific inquiry (e.g. Making observations, experimentation, discussion, reflection, reporting results etc.). The students have previously planted corn and bean seeds and today’s lesson has provided the students a chance to see the results of the planted corn and bean seeds. Additionally, seeds have been planted under and growing under the following conditions: without water, and without soil. The students see the results of these seeds planted under these conditions for the past week. Two plants in particular have already been grown their growth has been
