Recommended: Summary of logistics management

This was a story that took place in 2004. So here’s how it began. There was once a girl by the name of Genesis. She was your average Georgian girl. She wasn’t poor, she wasn’t rich. She didn’t come from a great family, but she didn’t come from a bad one. She had a normal life until one event that happened. Quick backstory on Genesis...She was a girl that loved her average, middle class family. They didn’t have much, but they had just enough to survive. She went to school everyday with a pair of raggidy jeans, a t-shirt, and a pair of tennis shoes. She went to a public school with people that had better clothes than her. They all had brand name clothes, meanwhile Genesis only had clothes from Goodwill. She always had a certain dream that she …show more content…

How? Well, I’m glad you asked. Every Friday she went to her favorite Chinese Restaurant, King Beijing. She got two fortune cookies every time. Each time the fortune she got didn’t mean very much to her. That was an on going experience until one specific day. She went to King Beijing and she got her fortune cookies like always. She, for some reason, had hope for these particular fortunes. She opened the first fortune cookie. Inside the fortune cookie it said ‘you will go on a life changing adventure.’ She opened the second fortune cookie eagerly. The fortune didn’t say anything, but it had a mini map. The map was very tiny, and she saw that it had a blue line from one destination to another. In addition, there were coordinate points on the bottom. The points read 48.8566° N, 2.3522° E. Genesis wasn’t sure what this location was, but she had to know. She darted home and got on her desktop. She typed in the coordinates and nothing popped up she wasn’t sure what was happening. If you could just figure out where that is, then find the closest airport.” “I can do that for you, but that would take a long time. How about you to customer service and get your location there,” said the lady at the Delta line. “I don’t want to know the location, I just want the ticket. I don’t want to know the location for reasons I may not say.” “Well, we can make that happen for you here at Delta.” “Thank you so much,” thanked Genesis. Genesis walks over to customer service. When she arrived, she saw the line. The line went on and on for what seemed a lifetime. She thought to herself that if she wanted to do this, it would take dedication. She waited in line for 5 minutes. No movement. Another 10, minutes, she moved up 5 people. She was there for 3 hours just standing in the line. She got to the front. She walked up to the lady. The lady seemed like a nice lady. “Hi, I need assistance with figuring out a location.” “Okay, what information do you have?,” said the customer service lady. “I have these coordinate points.” Genesis gives the points to the lady at customer service. “Okay, is this the

    On a train in China, June feels that her mother was right: she is becoming Chinese, even though she never thought there was anything Chinese about her. June is going with her father to visit his aunt, who he hasn't seen since he was ten. Then, in Shanghai, June will meet her mother's other daughters. When a letter from them had finally come, Suyuan was already dead--a blood vessel had burst in her brain. At first, Lindo and the others wrote a letter telling the other sisters that Suyuan was coming. Then June convinced Lindo that this was cruel, so Lindo wrote another letter telling them Suyuan was dead. In the crowded streets of China, June feels like a foreigner. She is tall--her mother always told her that she might have gotten this from her mother's father, but they would never know, because everyone in the family was dead. Everyone died when a bomb fell during the war. Suddenly June's father's aunt comes out of the crowd. She recognizes him from a photograph he sent. June meets the rest of the family, having trouble remembering any words in Cantonese. They all go to a hotel, which June assumes must be very expensive but turns out to be cheap. The relatives are thrilled by how fancy it all is. They want to eat hamburgers in the hotel room. In the shower, June wonders how much of her mother stayed with those other daughters. Was she always thinking about them? Did she wish June was them? Later, June listens while her father talks with his aunt. He says that he never knew Suyuan was looking for her daughters her whole life. Her father tells her that her name, Jing-mei, means, "little sister, the essence of the others." June asks for the whole story of how her mother lost her other daughters. Her father tells her that though her mother hoped to trade her valuables for a ride to Chungking to meet her husband, no one was accepting rides. After walking for a long time, Suyuan realized she could not go on carrying the babies, so she left them by the side of the road and wrote a note, saying that if they were delivered to a certain address, the deliverer would be rewarded greatly. She got very sick with dysentery, and Canning met her in a hospital. She said to him, "Look at this face.
