In my opinion it seems somewhat bizzare that the food you eat can contribute to your brains well being. Junk food can trigger some pleasure centers in the brain nut thaht does not mean that is is neccesarilly good for you. The brain gobbles up about 20% of your daily calorie intake. There are certain types of foods that specifically boost you memory. These nutritious food produce acetylcholine. Acetylcholine is a messenger that keeps your brain cells excited. In order for your brain to store memories your brain cells must ake connections. Foods such as cauliflower, cabbage, and brioccoli are essential for good memory. The best “Brain Foods” are probably the foods which are rich in omega 3 oils. Foods such as oily fish, walnuts, and flax seeds are great for the brain. I can recall to my soccer coach tell me to take fish oil pills. He said that they help you to concentrate for long periods of time. A study was done at the Brigham and Women’s hospital.
