These types of conflicts have really changed the plot and help progress the plot because it is the main purpose of the story. In the Outsiders the whole book is about Ponyboy and how they fit into society. This falls into the category of person vs society. She has also included many of these conflicts because it adds depth and more feeling to the character and their roles in the story. This makes it incredibly interesting and enjoyable to read and follow along. She also adds these types of conflict because it adds more character build up and adds up for an interesting novel. It would just be about a bunch of teenagers which would be boring and hard to enjoy. Furthermore, the plots build Ponyboy into a man rather than a boy. It also helps him become more mature and not look at things one way rather in different perspectives. The conflicts help the plot moving by adding more things the reader had to be aware of. It also well describes the atmosphere that the greasers and Socs live in together. Since it is about a struggle to fit in you will have to use person vs person, person vs self, person vs nature, person vs society and so on. The plots have really impacted Ponyboy and his way of seeing things. When the author put in Person vs Society this made Ponyboy aware of the people around him. It also made him more understanding of people around and how everyone has problems. The person vs person conflict has really changed Ponyboy. Many people who are interrupted as bad people such as Darry and Randy are actually really good people.
