Animal abuse is currently happening everywhere in this world, and this can only stop if everyone acknowledges and stands up for what is right. However, the cause of animal abuse can lead to so many questions asked in our society through the secondary data analysis that the questions will then be answered. In fact, conflict theory will be the one applied to the abuse of animals. Lastly, a hypothetical mean of collecting primary data on animal abuse can then be answered. To put it briefly, this research paper is focusing on why family professionals can no longer ignore violence towards animals, the feminism and treatment of animals, and animal liberation and rights, to examine the causes that lead to animal abuse when animal abuse is being announced.
Therefore, animal abuse is a growing trend in today’s society. This trend is bad for today’s society for reasons including death row for the animals, an increase in cost for animal shelters, and a decrease in space for the animals to be safe. Society can stop animal abuse by reporting anything they might see. Together, our society can put a stop to animal abuse, and protect our domesticated pets.
Violence is an action in which a person causes bodily harm towards someone in order to hurt them or even kill them. The society that we have today seems to disregard the uprising of cruelty towards animal and women, physically or mentally, putting their well beings aside because it does not seem like a problem people want to get their hands on. No consideration is taken towards the two victims, animals and women, who are objectified in the passages, “Animal, Vegetable, Miserable” by Gary Steiner and “Two ways a woman can get hurt: Advertising and Violence” by Jean Kilbourne. Hostile actions will always be a part of women 's lives and animals because they have been victimized earning them a certain label, unimportant. More attention needs to
Robert Gonzales, from Bakersfield, seemed like an average, ordinary man. One night however, he was accused of splashing beach on a small dog, and wrapping the dog’s mouth with duct tape. His goal was to discipline the dog. Gonzales was caught and arrested for abusing the animal. Animal abuse is an occurring problem in the U.S. But can be prevented if we take action.
Animals are used today for many sources of protection, food, clothing, transportation, sports, entertainment, and labor, but millions of these animals die each year from abuse. “Most of the reasons that people give for denying animals rights are: animals do not have souls, god gave humans dominion over the animals, humans are intellectually superior to animals, humans are intellectually superior to animals, animals do not reason, think, or feel pain like humans do, animals are a natural resource to used as humans see fit, and animals kill each other” (Evans). It all started in the nineteenth century, when people began abusing animals by beating them, feeding them poorly, providing them with no shelter or poor shelter, left to die if they were sick or old, or by cruel sports. Most of the organized efforts to improve human treatment of animals all started in England. Around the 1800s, there was signs of rising concern for animal welfare in the United States.
“There can be many reason for animal cruelty, like any other form of violence, is often committed by a person who feels powerless, unnoticed, or under control of others. Some who are cruel to animals copy acts what they have seen or that have been done to them, others see harming an animal as a safe way to get revenge against--or threaten-- someone who cares about that animal”. (“Animal… Statistics”) Concerns towards abusing animals have gone up in the past. Although there are not many cases on animal abuse, many have occurred. Abusers are charged with Criminal Animal Abuse and then sentenced to life in prison. Some animals that are physically abused are sometimes rescued by Animal Control, and are taken it to an animal shelter. However, many shelters have not had the space to keep the animals so the workers would have to put them down (Carol Roach). Researchers have shown that the main animals getting abused are dogs, chickens, horses, and livestock (“Animal...
Whether animal abuse is a misdemeanor and/or felony, in most cases they do not receive the enough jail time. The legal definition of animal abuse is the crime of inflicting physical pain, suffering or death on an animal, usually a tamed one, beyond necessity for normal discipline. It can include neglect that is so monstrous like withholding food and water that the animal has suffered, died or been put in imminent danger of death. As these question is asked take some time to think about it. Is animal abuse the same as domestic violence? Should the ones that abuse the animals receive the same amount of jail time as the person being charged with another crime? Statistics show 1,920 cases of animal abuse is reported in the media each year. Animal
The definition of humane is having or showing compassion or benevolence. My entire policy issue deals with the inhumane treatment of animals. More specifically how college students aren’t responsible enough to own their own pet, and how dogs don’t get the correct form of treatment due to irresponsible college students. Many dogs go missing, injured, and killed throughout the year due to them living with a group of college students who have no idea how to raise an animal with the amount of support it needs. Even though my policy issue is a nation wide issue at numerous amounts of colleges, because it has to do with animals many don’t show much attention to these types of issues. As for my solution I would require local shelters to test anyone
The ugly truth is that animals are dying at the hands of their owners everyday, some in very violent ways that can be avoidable given the right solution. Slaughterhouses, puppy mills, dog fighting, and so on, are just a few examples of how animals are being treated badly by people. Animal cruelty is a form of violence which, un...
Have you ever thought about where your chicken come from before you put it on your plate? Chickens is one of my major concerns.
“Man is the highest rated animal, at least among all the animals who returned the questionnaire (Brault, 2009).” For years humans have been using animals for experimentation, food, clothing, sport and entertainment, manual labor, and let us not forget man’s best friend. The unethical treatment of animals can best be resolved by deontology contrasted with ethical egoism.
115 million animals face animal cruelty every year. The animals that go through this tragic experience are mice, rats, dogs, cats, rabbits, monkeys, birds, and the list continues to grow. Over 25 million animals are suffering, harmed or killed for the use of cosmetic testing. They go through various test and are exposed to new chemicals. The purpose for them to be used as experiments is to as always gives us what we want without hurting us delicate humans during the process. What's the purpose of these experiments? Well it’s too basically give us everyday necessities like deodorant, lotions, and the everyday “must have” , makeup.
For animal welfare and the causes of animal abuse new research has been created. Since animal abuse is fairly a new subject, new research is constantly brought up. In the Bahamas a study was done in the College of Bahamas, and it states that, “…dogs were equally likely to be considered members of the household in homes without domestic violence,” (Fielding 197). Homes with violence show that humans substitute human victims for animal victims. Animal rights activists are trying to break down symbolic boundaries betw...
Animal abuse is a travesty in our world that must be stopped. Every year, millions of animals suffer because of human actions, directly or indirectly. Whether it’s abused dogs and cats or even mistreated circus animals, their suffering is as real as it would be if it happened to us. Even animals who are raised on farms simply for human consumption should not have to suffer. One of the worst parts of humanity’s role in animal abuse is that there are easy ways for people to help that they are either ignorant of or simply refuse to do. There are many examples of animals who are abused by humans, but there are also ways for people to help prevent and put an end to animal abuse.
Animal rights have been a problem for quite a long time, many people think the publication of “Animal Liberation” the spark that ignited the fire for animal rights movements. "The question is not, can they reason? Nor, can they talk? but, can they suffer?"
Life is so unfair. Humans have to follow certain stereotypes to be accepted by many people. People go through hardships that they feel they don’t deserve yet, animals have it worse. Animals are loyal, smart, and helpful creatures so how could anyone mistreat them? They can also allow lonely people to fill the huge hole in their hearts. Even so, they get bad reputations from humans that result in them getting put to sleep because they were abused, neglected, or simply unwanted.
