Another is the digital evidence that is accepted into the court and this is considered as one of the limitation because evidence presented must be proved that there is no tampering, all evidence must be fully accounted for and also computer forensics specialists must have complete knowledge of legal requirements, evidence handling, storage and documentation procedures. Other than that, cost also took a big part in the limitation. This is due to the large cost at producing electronic records and preserving them and this process is extremely costly to be done. By doing so, digital forensics can also be improved in processes such as storage, handling and documentation that uses up alot of the funds to keep the intensive data. I would also recormmend that the consumer like us and businessman should be educated and know more about digital forensics as it is an important knowledge for us all to be protected and prevent hackers from stealing and getting our private and confidential information. We can do this by educating childrens in their secondary age right where they would start to be exposed to the online world and protect themselves from getting thier information

The cigarette butts would also show a serial number indicating the brand (shown in Figure 3), which can be useful if it is found a victim or offender smokes a particular type of cigarette.
CBS’s CSI: Crime Scene Investigation exploded into popularity when it aired in 2000, opening doors for the creation of other similar criminal investigative television shows involving forensic evidence such as Cold Case, Criminal Minds, and Bones. Many of these CSI-type shows present a murder or crime solved within an hour-long episode using forensic evidence conceived by glamorized CSI personnel and sometimes fabricated methodologies and technologies that only exist on television. Despite just being shows, one wonders whether these popular shows have skewered public perceptions about forensic evidence in real court cases and have impacted the outcome of court verdicts. Forensic science has paved the way to a new world of technological advancements in solving crime, through DNA analysis, new technology such as M-Vac, improving systems such as CODIS and other investigative methods. As forensic science technology advances, the chance of an individual being able to commit a crime and walk away free without leaving any trace of evidence will lessen. While forensic science has its limitations, it can be the only way to provide an accurate account of what actually occurred at some crime scenes.
The criminal justice system has changed a lot since the good old days of the Wild West when pretty much anything was legal. Criminals were dealt with in any fashion the law enforcement saw fit. The science of catching criminals has evolved since these days. We are better at catching criminals than ever and we owe this advancement to forensic science. The development of forensic science has given us the important techniques of fingerprinting and DNA analysis. We can use these techniques to catch criminals, prove people's innocence, and keep track of inmates after they have been paroled. There are many different ways of solving crimes using forensic evidence. One of these ways is using blood spatter analysis; this is where the distribution and pattern of bloodstains is studied to find the nature of the event that caused the blood spatter. Many things go into the determination of the cause including: the effects of various types of physical forces on blood, the interaction between blood and the surfaces on which it falls, the location of the person shedding the blood, the location and actions of the assailant, and the movement of them both during the incident. Another common type of forensic evidence is trace evidence. This is commonly recovered from any number of items at a crime scene. These items can include carpet fibers, clothing fibers, or hair found in or around the crime scene. Hairs recovered from crime scenes can be used as an important source of DNA. Examination of material recovered from a victim's or suspect's clothing can allow association to be made between the victim and other people, places, or things involved in the investigation. DNA analysis is the most important part of forensic science. DNA evidence can come in many forms at the crime scene. Some of these forms include hair; bodily fluids recovered at the crime scene or on the victim's body, skin under the victim's fingernails, blood, and many others. This DNA can be the basis of someone's guilt or innocence; it has decided many cases in the twentieth century. As a matter of fact what you see on T.V. is around 80% false or over exaggerated in some way. To Start of, Criminal Investigation is the largest and most known form of Forensic Science. Some of the more known areas include; Fingerprinting, Ballistics, DNA Identification, Fiber Samples, Computer Animation, Documentation analysis, etc. To get this out of the way in the beginning, what you saw on last night’s law and order is far from the truth. Things they do in a matter of hours take months at a time, and most of the time aren’t even plausible concepts.
Technology is used by every single criminal justice practitioner in some way, shape or form each and every day. When it comes to crime analysis technology is there to help with accurate analysis of the crime scene or evidence obtained. Some examples of the technology used in crime analysis include radios, telecommunications, computer, data storage and collection. Each technology has its own unique role during crime analysis, all are equally important. Computers, data storage and collection would be the main technology that is used to assist during crime analysis. Computers are necessary for accurate crime analysis because they cut the chances of mistakes being made. Further all the information needed is stored within the computer for access later by any law enforcement official in any state. Basically that means that any and all data that is collected, stored and processed will be the same as it was when it was entered into the system and will remain accurate when it is needed by law enforcement agents or when it is needed for crime analysis.
The Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) Effect is a phenomenon in which television programs that feature forensic science, such as CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Criminal Minds and the Law and Order franchise, have influenced the approach jurors use to assess evidence in a criminal trial. This poses a challenge when prosecuting a defendant as it gives jurors improbable expectations. As the use of DNA (DeoxyriboNucleic Acid) testing, hand writing analysis, and testing of gunshot residue has become prevalent in television programs, jurors have come to expect the use of such testing in trials, which, in turn, has influenced the way cases are investigated and prosecuted, but has not necessarily influenced the rate of acquittals and convictions.
Despite these advantages, Grispos, Glisson and Storer (2012) highlighted several challenges that the cloud environment may pose for digital forensic investigators during the collection and analysis phrases of the investigation process. This new mindset is changing more than just the way people perceive science. The misunderstanding of science and technology has begun to lead to issues in the courtroom in real criminal trials. We do have known what forensics is. Forensics that we know is an application of various sciences to answer questions that are important to legal system in which it may be related to a crime. Forensics generallu covering something or methods of a scientific nature and also the rules established from the facts of the event, to do an introduction to physical evidence. This is just a usual forensics. Nowadays, forensics is not just like that, digital devices are everywhere today, helping people to communicate with other people globally, not just between town. We can use that to do some forensics thing too, and find the evidence. It is called Digital Forensics.

There are different types of computer crimes that many people become victims of every day. Computer crime is any crime that involves a computer and a network. Crimes such as data diddling, pump and dump, social engineering and spoofing are computer crimes. Even though these crimes are difficult by privacy issues, the new technology has made investigations and prosecutions well organized and effective.
