In my placement, the educators always sing songs. In the afternoon, the children usually do gross motor activity while singing. In the morning, Child B hold a ball and came to the educator, he looked at the educator and gave the ball to her.Then the educator sings”Bouncing the ball, bouncing just like me.” Child B was sating on the floor followed the beats to bounce their body with big smile. The child A looked the child B and picked a red ball rolling it.
Based on my observation, the infants have interests in play balls. Many older infants already could say “Ball” very clear. I will provide middle size soft rubber balls and small basketball hoop to support the children to practice throw balls into the hoop.

Competency is defined as whether an individual has sufficient present ability to perform necessary personal or legal functions. In 1960, Dusky v. I noticed that each child has their own way of carrying out a task even if it is the same task but this is one way that it makes them so unique and special. Every experience that we have with children is not the same and these experiences can bring us so many mixed emotions. These mixed emotions are what makes us the teachers that we are today. Introduction: Many assessment tools and interviewing skills are available to the clinical social worker within a mental health setting. This paper will examine one such assessment tool, the competency-based assessment, and its applicability in a mental health setting. A comparison will be made between this advanced assessment method and a generalist social work assessment. We also utilize a program called Project Read. It provides literacy curriculum for grades K-12 and focuses on phonics, reading comprehension and writing. We have a few teachers on staff that have been trained to help incorporate Project Read into all of the classrooms. It utilizes lessons that are based on direct concept teaching, higher level thinking skills and can also be adapted for the SDC classes, as it can incorporate multisensory strategies. This curriculum is supposed to make an improvement on RTI scores, but we don’t have data that shows Project Read results separated from Read 180 results, so the improvement gap and growth we have experienced could be from either program or both combined.
