As the module has progressed I have achieved a greater understanding of the learning goals and have applied them to assignments with good effect; after scoring 65 in TMA 1, I then scored 85 in both TMA 2 and 3. Learning goal 4 has been particularly useful because it helps structure my study schedule, reflect on learning and make future plans such as choosing which modules to study.
The feedback from my tutor has been invaluable. Applying feedback about paragraphing, essay structure and relating guidance notes to an assignment question has improved the overall quality of my work and increased my confidence.
My computing and general study skills have improved during the module. I have developed new skills such as keyboard shortcuts, how to create tables and the formatting of documents. Navigating the Open University and module website is now second nature and the Open University library is an excellent on-line resource I have learned to explore.

I have increased my scope of knowledge and achieved the goals of increased self-confidence and improved study skills set out in my answer to question four. I will stay focused on those goals and work towards my longer-term goal set out in my answer to question five, which is to attain the BA (Honours) Philosophy and Psychological Studies degree from the Open University.
My next steps will be to enjoy the summer break. I will also apply for a part-time tuition fee loan and enrol on the next module of the course which starts in October 2017. The study intensity is higher for this module, so as well as reflect on my learning and experiences of studying Y031 I will think about organising the time required for studying the new
After reading our mentors notes and analyzing what we have learned through this term, I have read all assignments that were submitted before our midterm exam. This gave me chance to follow up with how I advanced my writing skills from the beginning. As it was interesting to see how I can point out the missing qualities of these essays, it was nice to see our mentor’s notes justifying my points.
March 22nd, 2018, Competency 2B.1: When attempting to do a gastrointestinal and nutritional assessment on one of the resident’s my dyad partner and I were assigned to, the resident started telling us a story of her past. The story became very detailed and somber, and unfortunately the resident had dementia, so she began repeating painful moments of her past over and over. While my dyad partner and I were actively listening, we realized that we needed to try to street the conversation in another direction, so we began trying to talk about the flowers she had, or the bird feeder that was outside her window. And while the resident would try to steer the conversation back into the direction of her past, she did not get offended or upset anytime we tried deflect the conversation, so while we did our assessment on her, we would talk more positive topics. While it is important to listen and engage in what a resident is saying even if the subject is difficult, sometimes dementia can cause unfortunate mental loops where a deflection is necessary – not because my dyad partner or I are uncomfortable in hearing theses stories – but because it is painful for the resident to continually re-engage in these memories.
Lizzie's mother commented, "Lizzie and her brother have limited responsibilities, but when I tell them to do something they argue back with me instead of getting it done."
Over the course of everything I`ve changed the way I set my goals. I am on a high positive level with good attentions to keep my gpa were is`s suppose to be, my plans are as follows to have a tutor. study group, communicating with my advisor often and the
“The Goal” is a book written by Eliyahu M. Goldratt and Jeff Cox in 1984. The book is very famous in the management field. In 2004, the author published the third revision of it and celebrated selling over than three million copied of it around the world. Also, the goal book is taught in over than 120 collages. The book was recommended by my professor to be read and summarize as an extra credit.
My goal is to identify and demonstrate effective program management techniques. In order to accomplish that goal, I will demonstrate positive attitude when working with children and their families. I will show commitment to the program standards, develop appropriate practice and awareness of the competency goals. I will follow professional development and level of knowledge and skills from the core competency. I will participate in organizations to keep up to date with any new techniques and knowledge in the field.
During my service this semester I used CHES competencies: 6.1.4 (Adapt Information for consumer), 7.1.3 (Tailor messages for intended audience), 7.1.7 (Deliver messages using media and communication strategies). I was able to practice using CHES sub-competency 6.1.4 while tabling and volunteering for D.A.R.T.S. because I had to understand how to change the information I was given to connect with the intended audience. The intended audience for tabling was college level student, and for D.A.R.T.S it was seventh graders. By knowing the intended audience, I was able to simplify the information that needed to be passed on to the audience, so that it would make more sense and make more of an impact onto that person. CHES sub-competency 7.1.3 was
...larify the structure and destination in which I was headed. By revising my essays I was able to make the content and message seem more important and made the final drafts seem a slight degree better than the originals, but the finals were better nonetheless. The instructor did a very good job in guiding me and helping find my way into writing by focusing on some of the problems I was facing and clarified them so that I would better understand them. The instructor helped me expand on my grammatical by helping me discover what it was that I lacked while constructing basic sentence structure; the usage of commas and semi-colons, quotations, and how to sight titles of books and articles within an essay. This English 101 course I have attended has helped me develop better writing skills as well as helped me create more profound essays and a very satisfying research paper.
The delicacy of this type of competency assessment as well as the implications of the diagnosis and other clinical findings, means there are several legal and ethical points to consider. From an American Psychological Association standpoint, there are several issues, including consent, bias, and others. These considerations shift slightly as roles change from practitioner testifying based on their own evaluation of the defendant to the one testifying based on a review of the report.
I believe it is important for any student who wants to do their best in a class to take a moment to evaluate their own work to determine the rate their writing is progressing and how they can continue to advance their writing. When I looked through my own work I asked myself “what have I learned this semester?” and “what do I still need to learn in order to improve my writing?”. Answering both these questions will help me with my last step of my self-evaluation, developing a plan to learn new skills.
My interest in Psychology began in 2012, when I had the opportunity to research on my own about the subject. After I embarked on an introductory course in Psychology to relieve the boredom of working in a call centre, I then was motivated to continue with my studies. After securing my Higher and HNC in Social Science – I continued with the HND.
I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude for all the efforts that you have invested in helping me improve my writing throughout this course. The exertions which you devoted in me did not go in vain. Throughout this semester, I have become more insightful in regard to the process of writing as a whole. Who knew that writing can be challenging yet rewarding simultaneously? Through many challenges encountered in this class and many exercises comprised in this course, I was exposed to new writing process, audiences, and I became more inclined to taking risks in the art of writing. As the semester took form, I came to find myself careworn by certain elements of the writing process. Unlike many writers, beginning to write,
Over the course of the semester, I feel that I have grown as a writer in many ways. When I came into the class, there were skills I had that I already excelled at. During my time in class, I have come to improve on those skills even more. Before I took this class, I didn’t even realise what I was good at. This is the first class where I felt I received feedback on my writing that helped me to actually review my work to see what areas I lacked in and where I succeeded.
This class has helped me realize my strengths and weaknesses in literature. This has allowed me to grow and realize that I am a work in progress. I am confident that by the end of this class my big issues in writing will be improved. Each assignment in this class is helping grow and is making me into the writer I know I can be.
Relentless betterment has always been the motive of my life. The foremost requirement to attain this is knowledge and profound guidance. After the completion of my course under the guidance of your privileged university I am confident enough that I will take the path of constant growth.
