For competency-based education to be successful in medical education, they state that competencies need to be defined. They also state that faculty need to be trained on the evaluation process. Students need to reflect on their learning process and to evaluate their own skills because this is part of competency-based education. The authors state that they believe that competency-based education is a beneficial way to ensure that students will be able to provide competent care to patients, but better assessment tools are needed to evaluate students.

The authors discuss how to implement competency-based education in an online post-degree dental hygiene program. The results state that the students satisfied the goals and competencies of the program. Students and faculty believe that the program provides a great learning experience. Students state that the program is hard, but they believe that they learn more from the online courses compared to traditional courses. They also state that the program prepares them for different areas in the work force. Some of the faculty state that the workload is increased with the online courses, and other faculty state the workload is the same as traditional courses. To be deemed competent in skills according to nursing regulations and requirements. This is a challenging factor for many students, as they enter the transition period. This is due to students feeling they do not have the desired clinical competency that promotes the skills and abilities of a registered nurse (Harsin, Soroor & Soodabeh, 2012). Clinical research studies have found that students do have the required expected levels of knowledge, attitude and behaviour’s. However, the range of practical skills aren’t sufficient for the range of practice settings (Evans, 2008).
Although being academically smart is an important factor for this program, there are also other qualities that are just as important if not more. Some of those qualities that can make you an exceptional sonographer are being compassionate, caring, and being able to work well with others. The reason why I said this is because I believe “people don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care” (John C. Maxwell). Also it’s critical that you understand the concept of teamwork and that you can work well with others. In this field you need to work with doctors and other caregivers to deliver the best care for the patient. I can assure you that if you give me this opportunity to study in this great program, you will not be disappointed, but in fact be pleased, because I will do whatever it takes to complete this program successfully and become a great diagnostic medical sonographer. RESEARCH SKILLS INTRODUCTION The route I have decided to take after gaining enough credits at Access to Higher Education (Healthcare Science) is to study Diagnostic Radiography. According to the Birmingham City University, I should at least obtain a minimum of 220 UCAS tariff points. The number of credits required will be in excess of that required to pass the Access course (66 Level 3 credits) and should include Level 3 credits in Science-based subjects, English and Study Skills. I have chosen to take one of the Allied health professions routes and want to study Radiography.
I have chosen this topic because I just feel that teaching clinical skill is one of the most important strategies which have been used in medical schools, it enhances students to build a confidence which helps them in their future career.
I was inspired and motivated when I saw radiographers worked on X-Rays, MRI, CT and Ultrasound scanners to produce body images which were used for disease diagnosis. Even though I was not performing a technical job, this experience installed me with a positive impression towards my decision to change a career to the Radiography.
The first step in my plan is to obtain a Bachelor’s in Science concentrated in Psychology to enhance my knowledge of the world and how we interact with it while building a foundation in the professional and technical skills needed as I continue my education at the graduate level. I am attending Baton Rouge General School of Radiologic Technology to pursue an Associates degree through Northwestern State University to become a licensed radiologic technologist. I chose this profession because I thoroughly enjoy helping others and making a difference in people’s lives. Radiologic technologists are expected to give efficient patient care while following the doctor’s order to proceed with the X-ray examination. Radiology is the most important role in healthcare because with out having X-rays, the surgeons could not see inside of the patient’s body to perform surgery. Doctors can not predict what is going on inside of a patient without having an X-ray. I am interested in this being my future career because

When students are deciding on where to go to college, they have the option of choosing between online classes and the traditional classroom classes. Today, some students are finding it much easier to maintain a job, family and start a college career, all by taking online classes. Although some students still prefer to stick with the traditional classroom classes, they still have the option to take online classes. Both online and the traditional classes will provide the educational requirements needed to obtain a college degree and opportunities in the work field. Although the online classes offer just as much as the traditional classes, they are completely different when it comes to teaching methods, course material and time.
Throughout this course I have learned a lot about psychology. I will talk about how it affected me personally, socially, organizationally/societal, and the lasting impact it had in my life.
