Teen Titans vs. Teen Titans Go! “Titans, trouble!” (Murakami N.P.) Although the original teen titans and the newer show Teen Titans Go! seem very similar at a distance they are two completely different shows and the newer show is simply a rip-off from the great classic that once was the original Teen Titans this is shown in the animation, story line, and portrayal of the characters. The animation in the two shows is extremely different which leads to the two shows having different effects on the audience. In the original Teen Titans show they used animation that was closer to anime which gave the audience more emotion and a stronger feeling of attachment. In turn this connected the audience to the characters in such a way that they felt they knew and were a part of the show. Which would cause the watchers to become more in tune with what they were witnessing. The newer show (Teen Titans Go!) has more of a cartoon animation which gives it more of a funny and less serious feeling which is directed to the audience. This effects the audience in a different way it gives a more detached feeling to the people watching which they cannot connect to their own lives or relate to the characters with. The target …show more content…
In the original the show went further into the characters pasts giving many details expressing their sad pasts and how they made it through them along with the emotions and sorrow they still face. A good example of this would be Starfire which is an alien who is from a distant world that lives on earth with the teen titans on one of the episodes her older sister Blackfire comes to visit but seems to bring up a lot of issues. “ Blackfire dislikes her younger sister due to the fact that Starfire dethroned her on Tamaran, and left the crown to Galfore” In Teen Titans Go! The characters are shown and portrayed as happy-go-lucky children with childish
persuasions. For that reason, using only pathos for emotions of the audiences is not enough
The movie "Remember the Titans" is a character education filled film for all ages. To summarize, this movie takes place in the year nineteen seventy-one and follows the issue of racism. Two high schools in the town of Alexandria, Virginia are being integrated into an African American and Caucasian school, and that mix includes the football team. The movie follows the story of their development. At first, the two races sit, talk, and practice separate. After one practice camp, and one passionate coach, the boys learn to respect and become friendly with each other. However, after the two week practice camp is up and they go back to school, the rest of the high school does not understand why the football players have changed. However, the football
Remember the Titans is a film that was made in the year 2000, and it depicts many aspects of racial inequality. Racial inequality can be defined as discrimination based on race in opportunity for things such as socioeconomic mobility or access to certain goods and/or services. In the United States, this discrimination can have a strong effect on many aspects of society such as home life and employment. A large gap between Caucasians and African-Americans still exists in America. In this film, there are more white people than there are black people. In terms of major roles, there are about five black characters and more than fifteen white characters. Although the degree of importance of the black characters is pretty high, the quantity still does not compare to the white characters.
Discrimination has been present in many forms throughout history. The hate filled acts have been performed many times throughout the years, but was seen as socially unacceptable during and after the Civil Rights Movement. Remember the Titans takes place during the Civil Rights Movement, and showed how equality between races was still being fought for in the community. Remember the Titans showed how football created unity between the white and black community, but also showed the issues the black community faced. Remember the Titans depicts many forms of hate filled discrimination because it showed physical violence, social outcasting, and protesting on the belief one race was superior to another.
...rall effectiveness of the play by allowing the audience to make personal connections with the characters as well as strengthening the theme threads.
...arning from a movie. However, this kind of gender socialization is everywhere in society and can go unchecked, as seen, in movies. The importance of educating children to catch these kinds of ideological messages is important in developing a generation less concerned with gender and race and one more devoted to equality. The players in the film may have learned to negotiate the space of masculinity and race, but they are not taught to include those outside of their team's objectives of perfection. The women who stand in the periphery of the film are a metaphor for those who are in the periphery of social importance and concern. Remember the Titans does little to inform its viewer of the issues of gender that also surrounded the early seventies. Women do not, as then, have adequate representation. It seems unlikely this treatment was done to reflect that inequality.
Remember the Titans is a film based on the true story of Coach Herman Boone, who tries to integrate a racially divided team. Throughout training camp and the season, Boone and Yoast 's black and white players learn to accept each other, to work together, and that football knows no race. As they learn from each other, Boone and Yoast also learn from them and in turn, the whole town learns from the team, the Titans. Thus, they are prepared to pursue the State Championship and to deal with and some adversity that threatens to effect their season.
At the start of Remember the Titans directed by Boaz Yakin, all schools are segregated and there are no integrated teams in Virginia, until the school board for the new T.C Willams High School forced integration, with black and white players being put together and forced to work together. The main changing relationships are between Gerry and Julius, Coach Boone and Coach Yoast and Gerry and Ray. I think these relationships are mainly developing because they are learning about each other and bonding as teammates.
The film Remember the Titans is a film written by Gregory Allen Howard, directed by Boaz Yakin, and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. The film was set in Alexandria, Virginia in 1971 after the Civil Rights movement to end segregation. The film is about a high school football team that struggled when their town was being forced to integrate blacks and whites into one school. The team was faced with losing their white coach along with the integration and they all wanted to quit the team. Remember the Titans is an effective social commentary because it meets the following criteria: racism, societal preconception, and social acceptance.
The movie Remember The Titans does a good job of showing the main issue of racism in that time period. It shows it well by showing both sides of them the black and the white and not just one like most movies. The team showed the town that your race doesn't matter it's your personality. This movie shows that even though people are different colors they can become your best
Remember the Titans is a film from 2000 displaying a true story of a racially divided football team from the 1970s. The movie highlights the relationships of the black and white people, and how they learned to interact with each other in a time when this was not the way of life. It brings up a number of questions throughout, of what is right and what is wrong, and really challenges the characters, making it a very interesting movie to watch. I have seen this movie many times, and each time I feel like I get something new out of it. It is a movie that can be used as a teaching tool, it does a great job of interpreting not only what was happening in the United States of America at that time, but social psychology concepts through real life situations.
The Titans were flawless, in the sense that they were greater than the gods. They could not be killed, and thus they were invincible. Their universe was ruled with absolute power. The football team of T.C. Williams High School were the Titans of Alexandra, Virginia. Their football field was their universe and with such power, they controlled the field with merciless victory. This did not mean that the players were perfect, rather that together, unified perfection was achieved. In the film Remember the Titans, many social issues became points of focus, with racism predominantly being mentioned above all else.
People can feel better about themselves after watching these types of movies. Using these elements together, it makes the movie better, but not only that, but each element helps each other out in the scene to make it a very good movie
As an audience, we become involved in the plot not through learning about characters’ backgrounds and traits. Instead, we learn information at the same time through the mechanics of the plot and editing. We are made to work to understand the workings of the plot. As we watch the film unfold, the editing takes the along for the ride rather than watching from a distance. the audience and characters sweat together as surprises arise in the well-thought out plan and the way the movie ...
made in. Some incorporate them into the plot, some use them as allegories, and some satirize them.” Without an influence or connection to relate with the audience, the film would have no dimension. When seeing a movie, viewers are always going to search for an underlying meaning or message that could connect to their lives today. Although most
