There are many things about high school that people look forward to. Some of the things is getting out of middle school, feeling like you are reaching the top of mount everest where the top is the senior year, graduation year. Even though it is a new experience having homework every night everyone pushes through it all because they are all trying to reach the same goal. The top, graduating. When senior year finally comes you feel successful, because, you have reached the top. But not full, the top of the mountain is reaching the very tip of it, and that is graduation day. When you get your cap and gown and have a graduation party afterwards. Or in some cases before graduation day. Some people will have an idea for what they want to do and or be after they graduate. And others don’t fully know and are still trying to get ahold of themselves for deciding what they are going to do for the rest of their lives. Some will be heading to college. The others will be taking life on right out of the gate and jump straight into a full time job. Which in some cases isn’t such a bad idea going to a full time job instead of going to college. For some graduating students their path that they are thinking on going is Culinary Arts school. Because they want to become a chef or some sort of a cook when they grow up. According to Armstrong and Hamilton, there are three types of college pathways: the party pathway built for the most socially and upper class oriented students; the mobility pathway designed for the least privilege and more vocationally oriented and the professional pathway built for the most competitive and ambitious students. Armstrong and Hamilton claims that each college pathway requires a lot of the university resources, like time and energy, to be built and conserve. Moreover, there is also the constant challenge from the university to balance the deve...
A challenge that all seniors face at the end of their high school career is the decision that will shape the rest of their future. Will it be Harvard, Ivy Tech, or a job at the nearest fast food joint? Of course, there is nothing wrong with not going to college, but for the people of society who plan to marry and have at least three children, it is almost essential. After making this decision, the seniors who choose to attend college must then decide which one. Campus size, housing, nearby activities, and available degrees and study programs are all important traits to consider when searching for the perfect college.
In the Egyptian era there were many art forms that were done and sculpted. Seated Scribe is one of these Egyptians sculptures. It was done in 2400 B.C.E and was done in limestone by subtractive sculpting. The colors that are used in this sculpture are very plain and bland. You can notice that the color is wearing away at the sculpture because there are blotches where the paint has started to chip away. The sculpture is physically accurate of a middle-aged man because you can see the definition of the extra fat on his body and you can tell that he has some intelligence because of the way that he is presenting himself and that he is ready to write. The man is sitting on a square piece of stone and it seems as though he is about to jot a few notes down or write a letter. You can see that he is holding something that looks like a writing pad of some sort and you see his writing utensil in his left hand. The actual pose of the man is very stiff, very perfect. The Man is sitting with good posture and he does not let his back slouch one bit. It seems to be an uncomfortable position for the man.
One question that comes to mind when graduating high school is, “should I attend college?” For many graduates this question have a very obvious answer. A high school graduate may state that, “college is the best option if one is trying to get a higher level of education, and will help one compete for a higher paying job.” However, in my opinion most graduates do not consider the fact that going to college is a very big decision to make and that the schoolwork will not be easy. Going to college is not the best choice for every high school graduate because many students cannot handle college, colleges’ lower standards, and not all jobs require a college degree.
English 50 The Challenge of Getting a College Education Whether someone is returning to college or has just completed high school, there are many factors to consider. What is the goal? Is it a vocation or a technology? Perhaps a degree, there is an Associates of Art or an Associates of Science, or a Bachelor’s of Arts or Science. Or even a Doctorate.
The Royal Academy of art in France and its counterpart in Great Britain were established in the mid-1600s, and since that time they had a monopoly on the styles and the tastes. They sponsored the Salon, which was an official art exhibition. The jury of the Salon decided which kinds of artworks should be exhibited, and in many times the jury was arbitrary. (Rosenfeld, 2004). The Royal Academy considered the history paintings to be the only great art, and they set the standards of the taste and the style in that era according to this point of view.

In analyzing factors which contribute university applications, both the University of British Columbia and the University of Victoria present similarities through their programs, admission and campus life. Whereas the size of the institution begins to alter the opportunities to travel and study abroad through UVIC, one may find that studying on an island surrounded by one of the most vast substances on earth is just as intriguing. Despite the differences in many universities’ programs or reputation, students will ultimately choose the university which appeals most to their interests. The term university has begun to evolve from an obstacle one must pass to seemingly secure a stable career and a place to solely learn, to a pathway one may choose to further define in his or her journey to success.
One of the hardest decisions a high school graduate deals is the choice between attending a Community College or a University.Community College is the most basic type of two-year College that gives students basic preparation to continue education, are often an affordable and reasonble option. Universities you can earn degrees such as Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctorates which is more expensive. At a University, you can prepare for many types of careers or for further study in graduate school. High school students apply to a Community College or Universities, which include either undergraduate or graduate students..There are many differences between College and University that needs to be taking under consideration
It is often said, that high school, prepares a student for college. For certain, a student is being prepared, but only for what the world has to offer, and that is making choices on what to pursue. Certainly, most people would concur with this statement. But, the fact to consider is, that high school does not prepare a student for the major difference in the challenge.
I want to sign up for culinary arts because I would like to learn more about food and learn how to cook it. I can imagine myself owning my own restaurant by serving people, taking orders, and being the boss of it. I have a passion for learning how to cook I want to learn how to make different kinds of foods from different cultures. I only know about American and Dominican food I want to learn more. It would be great to learn different things from different places.
I am currently a junior in high school and the idea of graduating frightens me. I’ve been told countless times that I have to get into a great school in order to get a great profession
When students are still in high school, college looms in the distance like an ominous cloud. Frankly, all of the students are scared about going to college. When students go to college they feel like going to the great unknown – to go to a place where they don’t know anyone. But after all college is not that bad.
School plays an important role in our lives. Many people will spend more than fifteen years at school in order to get the qualifications that are required to work in a specific field. Those years are broken down into several levels, some of them being more enjoyable than others. Two very important levels that people go through are high school and college. Even though some think that these levels are almost the same, there are significant differences between them. The cost of high school is not the same as the cost of college. Also, some differences apply from an academic point of view. Typically, the social environment also differs from high school to college, which can be related to the question of freedom versus responsibility.
The philosophy with which I approach my education are that all institutions of learning are somewhat like a factory assembly line, where students are molded and are expected to meet certain specific standards by the time they graduate. Education is significantly important for a positive future. Education allows people to reach their fullest potential and help others later on reach their fullest potential. In this paper in I will try to provide information on how I came about choosing my career choice in the fashion industry, from academic excellence, life-long learning, collaboration, openness, integrity, and service.
