Education plays a very important role in a person’s life. Basic education is attained through primary school and high school. Education may be further perused after graduating from high school by attending university. This decision can make a person’s future brighter because, in most cases it is really hard to get a well-paid job and live a stable life without having a bachelor’s degree. However, people who want to peruse higher education must know that although there are similarities, there are also some differences between high school and university in terms of assignments, teachers, and responsibilities.

High school and university assignments are demanding on different levels. High school assignments are not as demanding, they can be very simple and do not require much effort; and most of the assignments can be done in a short period of time. Some of them can be done during

class. Teachers play a big role in helping with the assignments and grades are easily giver. For example, if the students got a low grade, they can discuss it with the teacher it might be increased by giving them extra work. On the other hand, university assignments are much more demanding and require more effort and time. Weeks might be spent to complete a single assignment; therefore, students must manage their time. In addition, grading of assignments in university is more precise and less flexible. Small mistakes might cause the student to lose a lot of marks. Hence, although both university and school require the completion of assignments, in university is much different and much more time consuming.
Both schools and universities have teachers, however they are different in many aspects. High school teachers tend to remind their students of submissions. Teachers also willingly guide their students especially the weak ones. Students are able to meet their teacher at anytime during school hours. When students miss class, teachers are usually fine with explaining all the material that was missed. Similar to high school, university professors also teach their students during the class hours. However, if the students wish to receive help or advise, they should contact the professor first or meet their professor only during the scheduled office hours. If the students miss any class, the professor is not responsible to repeat any of the covered material. It is the student’s responsibility to take the notes from other students. Moreover, professors do not follow up and help weak students by themselves, students should seek help themselves. However, teachers are essential in both university and high school.
Finally, responsibilities in high school and university differ in terms of education, time, and toward the individuals themselves.

In high school, students are responsible to get high grades in order to enter university and then choose their major. In school, students cannot pick the courses they want to study because it is mandatory. Class timing in high school is fixed and is schedules are not flexible. Most high school students are dependent on their teachers as well as their parents to remind them of their responsibilities. In university, on the other hand, students grow as individuals and they become independent. Their responsibility towards education becomes more valued to themselves because they are studying their desired major. Students must pick the courses that they are willing to study for every semester based on a guide. Not only that, but also they can choose the timings of the classes that suit them. University students are more aware of their own duties and responsibilities toward their studies. Therefore, they do not need parents reminding them of their own

priorities.
In conclusion, high schools and universities are two of most important places to gain knowledge from. They are both essential education institutions that have teachers, classes, assignments, and responsibilities. Yet, they are both two different stages in a student life. Attending both them is the right path for a brighter future.
