A song is a poem in disguise and it creates emotions for the listener. Every songwriter gets their inspiration from somewhere, for example Henry’s Lau inspiration is a Korean drama. Henry Lau was born on October 11, 1989, in Toronto, Canada. He is a Chinese/Korean singer with many skills like piano, guitar, rap, violin, along with songwriting. He became a solo artist in June of 2013 (“who”). He is famous for his songs “Trap, Runnin, and It’s you”. “It’s you” is about a young man who is in love and does not know how to express his feelings. To understand this song or any other song, one must know the song’s background, the meaning/style, and of course how one feels about it. To begin with, Henry Lau wrote “it’s you” and release it on October 4, 2017. Along with writing the song, he also sang it (Wozumo). As the song is getting more popular, more people are covering the song on YouTube along with other platforms. To me, the meaning of the song is pretty straightforward because the lyrics are easy to understand. It is about a young man who is deeply in love and want to express his feeling for a girl. I think the song is very moving, catchy, and it shows how he is trying hard to explain how he feels because he cannot put it into simple words. It also relatable because growing up everyone has been through this moment before and that is part of why it is so catchy and popular. I love this song because when I’m stressed, I listen to it and it makes me happy. When I study I like to listen to music and this one is my go-to. I have a strong love for Korea, therefore I love watching their dramas and listening to their music. What I take away from this song is that love is really beautiful.
