Shakespeare Romeo and Juliet is similar to the book Matched by Ally Condie in my opinion. Both books are about true love that is forbidden in society’s eyes. “Romeo and Juliet” is an older book but both display the effects of love and what people are willing to do. Both books have an ideal soulmate that the setting and story line that the author has set up for the characters, but both main character defies it. They fall in love with the antagonist side and have to overcome many difficult situations. The two books shows the difficulties and hardship the characters go through for true love. While going through with life they learn what misery and pain is and how it is in the real world.
The female characters in both novels share the similar problem. In both novels there is a “perfect guy” made for the character, but they fall for another person. In “Matched”, Cassia is matched with her best friend Xander, so society expects her to marry him because it is the law. She questions everything and falls in love with Ky, an outcast from society who is

Cassia runs away from her perfect life and planned future to escape to a unknown terrain. As she runs away and begins her journey she joins a rebellion and falls in love with Ky. She risks her whole life to be with him. She leaves everything behind; a perfect family, arranged marriage, and controlled lifestyle. In “ Romeo and Juliet” Juliet falls for Romeo, and is willing to risk her life. She sneaks in and out to see him and defies the arrange marriage agreement. She sends her nurse to send secret messages and make plans with Friar Lawrence. She marries Romeo against her family wishes in private, and plans to run away with him. She plans her own death just to escape and be with Romeo; as like how Cassia ran away to a camp and almost got killed for Ky. Both characters choose love and passion instead of arranged marriages, they chose their own
Thought the play, these lovers go through many obstacles that range from arranging a wedding and finding a time to meet to Juliet trying to get out of marrying Paris. The entire time fate is tossing them around. Romeo realizes this after he kills Tybalt, Juliet’s cousin, in a brawl. At first, Romeo does not want to fight because Romeo and Juliet are already married at this time and he knows that they are cousins. Tybalt asks for a brawl from Romeo but Mercutio fights instead. Mercutio gets killed by Tybalt and that is what makes Romeo mad and fight Tybalt.
She fell in love with him as soon as she saw him for the first time, just as he did. After this she is willing to risk all she has to be with Romeo. She is a bit more cautious than Romeo, aware that their romance is forbidden. When they were on her balcony she told Romeo to be careful to not be caught by anyone of her house so he wouldn’t get in trouble. She also didn’t was careful with what she told her mother when she was crying over Romeo’s banishment. She was careful to make it sound to her mother as though it was Tybalt, who was killed, that she was crying over. She, like Romeo, was willing to act extremely in pursue of her love. When she was given the poison by Friar Laurence she states her many concerns that it would not work, but is still willing to do it, just to be with Romeo. She even states on multiple occasions that it would better she or Romeo be dead than for them to be apart. Ultimately, she does kill herself after she finds Romeo dead.
A Comparison of Two Versions of Romeo and Juliet In this essay the opening sequences of the two versions of
The purpose of the light/dark motif in Romeo and Juliet is to show how Romeo and Juliet are unable to tell light from dark, or good from bad. I think everyone has the potential to discern what choices lead to “light” and what choices keep them in the “dark”. So Romeo and Juliet had that potential but I don’t think they wanted to know about that, since nothing else mattered to them but them. In this play, Romeo and Juliet do never make a clear choice of light over dark because they almost do not want to deal that decision in the midst of their romantic bliss. They could have brought their situation, which was becoming more of a mess each day, into the light by speaking openly about it. However that would’ve ended, I think the feud would have to be reconciled in some way and I’m sure Romeo and Juliet would not have lost their lives doing this. By ignoring their responsibilities and ignoring the darkness that was impeding upon them, Romeo and Juliet in essence allow tragedy to befall them both.

Romeo and Juliet, a drama play by William Shakespeare, tells the tale of two star crossed lovers. In the city of Verona 1590, two love struck teenagers, are predestined to meet. They are forbidden to be with one another for a feud by their progenitors has doomed them with a forever lasting hatred for one another. Defying those rules, the two decide to keep their love a secret, ending their lives in a way no one would have imagined. Some say they acted like children, some say they were just in a daze, but despite knowing the risks and consequences of loving Juliet, Romeo continues to ignore them and fight for more time with her, resulting in his own demise.
Romeo and Juliet is arguably the most classic love story in the English language and it portrays to us young, irrational, passionate love. Shakespeare suggests to us that the kind of love that Romeo and Juliet feel towards each other leads lovers to pass in isolation to the world around them because they are so in love. Romeo and Juliet refrain from committing to anyone else as they choose only to act selflessly towards each other. They obtain a strong young love which is a reason why their relationship grows as intense as it does so quickly. Shakespeare makes us think that Romeo and Juliet's love is only a short-term burst of young love, which we know it is short-term, but from the view of a reader, Romeo and Juliet have a very special love.
Romeo and Juliet is a beautiful classic love story of two star crossed lovers, but it gets tragic.
William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet `Romeo and Juliet` is one of the best love stories of all time but although Shakespeare wrote the play, the story wasn't original. It all started hundreds of years before Shakespeare was born, in Italy when myths and folktales travelled about two young lovers from enemy families. So although Shakespeare's ideas weren't original, he has developed the basic ideas so well that now the whole world are familiar with the deeply touching love story of `Romeo and Juliet`.

In the tragic play, Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet”, Kausse states that “two star-crossed teenagers find one another, fall madly in love and despite their well-thought-out plans, are destroyed by their parents hate as well as other forces beyond their control.” Kausse believes that the “parents hate” is the reason for the teens demise, but it’s actually because of love.
