Comparing Neo of the Matrix and Ender Wiggen of Ender’s Game
From the first moment that we wake up we know that we are awake, but have you ever had a sensation that you are dreaming but you know you are awake? This is the same way Neo felt in his world in the movie the Matrix. Ender Wiggen was in the same situation in the novel Ender’s Game, written by Orson Scott Card. He was living in a place where no one accepted him because he was a third, which means that he belongs to the government for a special purpose. The comparisons of Neo and Ender through their different conflicts made believe, important decision to make and stimulus that people need and the consequences that brings after making decision.
The first similarly that Ender and Neo have was that both were put in the world to complete a mission. First, they needed to believe that they were the one to save the world. Neo, in the movie, The Matrix was living in a world where everything seems normal. But he knows that there is something wrong in the world. This is when Morpheus appears. Morpheus, for many years, was searching for the one. He blindly believed that Neo was the one. When Neo knew that his world was not real, he felt that his whole life was living in a dream world. Morpheus was the man that guided Neo, training him and making him believe that he is the one. On the other hand, Ender’s story is very similar. Ender was a young man: independent, strong willed, mentally tough creative and mature. Even though he is only six years old, he is capable of having the ability of leadership. Ender also had a man with no mercy that believed that he was the one. Colonel Graff was Ender’s teacher. He guides, him trains him, isolates him from his peers, and drives him to the point of exhaustion.
These two men have a conflict that they do not find themselves in their world. They feel that they do not belong in the world that they are living in. Ender is living in a place where the government controls a system that everyone must follow. Ender does not believe that this system was right for the people. He is fighting with his internal and external conflict. His external conflict involves his struggles to overcome the obstacles places in his path, and the internal conflict is the result of the external that affect his emotional life.
In Orson Scott Card’s novel, Enders Game, at the age of six, Ender is chosen by Colonel Graff and the International Fleet to help save mankind from the buggers. However, through his journey, he experiences manipulation and deception from significant figures that surround his life. This deceit from Colonel Graff, Valentine, and Mazor Rackham is focused on defeating the buggers in the Third Invasion.
In Orson Scott Card’s novel, “Ender’s Game”, you have a story about a young man who is called out to fulfill the needs of many. There?s a man versus society conflict when men beat up Rossaleen because of her color, and another internal conflict when May is so overcome with grief that she cant stop crying.
Orson Scott Card uses many themes in Ender’s Game to portray the type of person that Ender is becoming. The importance of the mind game, Ender’s techniques, and isolation from others are extensive themes that provide important in depth information about the world around Ender. The situations that he is put through ultimately give the reader an understanding of what Card is trying to show while also showcasing the events that Ender is put through.

In the middle, he is taken to battle school and there the people realize that he is the best person for the job and will lead the human race to victory over the Buggers. Lastly, the IF puts Ender and his group together to beat the buggers in a final war. The novel Ender’s Game is written by Orson Schott Card. It is about a young boy who is sent to battle school. He meets friends and makes adversaries. In battle school, out in space, Ender, the young boy is a genius and is taught many tactics to destroy their prime enemy the buggers. He excels in school and battles his way into command school before the required age. There he is told he is battling buggers in simulations or is he? Throughout the novel, Ender is manipulated, bullied, and isolated, which creates many themes and messages. In this novel Ender’s Game the main theme is life is a game. Three characters that best prove this are Ender, Peter, and Bonzo.

This issue of childhood obesity is growing out of control. There havev been many efforts to increase awareness in order to help children become more fit. Success for these attempts have not been too successful. Many children who get on a diet do not complete it. As a result, they do not reach their expected weight loss goal. Childhood obesity is dangerous because there are a lot of potential complications that can be faced if it is not handled. Becoming obese during childhood can result in obesity later on; it can also impact the quality of the child’s life; and children also become more susceptible to diseases later on. Due to the statistics that are shown for the growing rate of childhood obesity, it is wondered if childhood obesity is a result of parental neglect. The current debate is what can be done to help childhood obesity. If indeed it is a result of parental neglect, what can be done to get parents in check to control this ongoing epidemic?
Childhood obesity is a serious problem among American children. Some doctors are even calling childhood obesity an epidemic because of the large percentage of children being diagnosed each year as either overweight or obese. “According to DASH sixteen to thirty-three percent of American children each year is being told they are obese.” (Childhood Obesity) There is only a small percentage, approximately one percent, of those children who are obese due to physical or health related issues; although, a condition that is this serious, like obesity, could have been prevented. With close monitoring and choosing a healthier lifestyle there would be no reason to have such a high obesity rate in the United States (Caryn). Unfortunately, for these children that are now considered to be obese, they could possibly be facing some serious health conditions, such as heart disease, diabetes, and some types of cancers. All of these diseases have been linked to obesity through research. These children never asked for this to happen to them; however, it has happened, and now they will either live their entire life being obese, or they will be forced to reverse what has already been done (Childhood Obesity).
