Love, at first sight, is the idea where to people fall profoundly in love after their first encounter. But, how can a person fall in love with someone they just met? Love is when two people know and care deeply for each other no matter what. Therefore it is not possible to fall in love with someone without knowing who they really are.

One of the things people tend to mistake for love is lust. What they do not notice is the love is the desire to be with someone emotionally and it takes time to develop. Meanwhile, lust is based on a person's physical features and it occurs after a short interaction. Romeo and Juliet is a good example of lust being the truth behind of love at first sight. For instance, when describing Rosaline Romeo said, "she is rich in beauty, only poor That when she dies, with beauty, dies her store" (1.1.209-210) making her seem like she was the most beautiful girl and how it is a pity she refuses to bless a child with it. When meeting someone for the first time people tend to be on their best behavior. Therefore taking time allows couples to show the other who they truly are. In addition, the compatibility of a couple is tested by experiencing things such as fancy dinners and grocery shopping allowing couples to see if they truly belong together. Another Romeo and Juliet example would be how short-lived their relationship was. Romeo tends to fall in love easily. Mercutio told Romeo "you are a lover. Borrow Cupid’s wings and soar with them above a common bound" (1.4.18-19) this means Mercutio believes Romeo loves often and can grant his love to another girl as he has done before. To continue Juliet was 13 years old and she has never been in a relationship.
