Religion has been around for a very long time and there are many different religions that people practice all around the world. Three of the biggest most practiced religions today in the western world are Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. These religions are very old and when looking at the three might seem very similar. Every religion has its own paths and beliefs to reach their goals; however there are also many similarities in beliefs. Dating back from the 7th century BCE the Jewish people have believed in the prophet named Moses who gave the messages of Allah (god). Jews deeply believe in Halakhah, which is a strict set of rules and practices that mainly help people that believe in Judaism live a better life. From the teachings of Moses, we know that god was born from a normal birth and died a normal death. Like Christianity, Judaism beliefs come from the Hebrew Bible (Tanakh). Judaism and Christianity also both came from Ancient Palestine besides Judaism kept confined to the area. Judaism was founded by Abraham, and it is the base from which both of the other two religions came from. Christianity is the biggest religion of the three with a following of 2 billion people mostly in Europe, North and South America, and Africa. Like Judaism, the religion came from Ancient Palestine but under Roman Rule and from the Hebrew bible but with a complement from the New Testament as well. People who believe in Christianity follow the rule of canon, which is a set of laws and regulations to help achieve a greater life. However, how Judaism, Christianity and Islam view God in their respective ways is actually quite different. In Christianity, God is the all mighty creator and ruler of the universe. Christians believe God is infinite and is everything to the followers. God is shown in trinity with him being the father, the creator, and ruler of all life. Both Muslims and Christians love and respect Jesus, but the major difference between Islam and Christianity is that Christians believe in the divinity of Christ. Muslims think that by believing in the Trinity, Christians believe in three Gods, but really they only believe in one god as three different things that represent them. Judaism views the existence of God as a main provider of the universe, and that the reason universe is here is enough reason to believe in god. Islam and Judaism only believe in one God and God had no help creating the universe so you should never pray to anyone else but that single true
these three religions have in common?” and the answer to that is more than you may think. I
Both Christians and Islam believe in one Supreme Being but according to Christian they call Him God while Muslims call him Allah. The two religions conceptualize God in different ways. Muslims view Allah as one God, this is emphasized through the word ‘tawhid’ which in Islam means “absolute unity”. Christians on the other hand view God as three holy beings, God the father, God the son, and God the Holy Spirit. According to theology this is known as the holy trinity. Early Christians did not understand the meaning of the word trinity which led to the thought that they worship three gods. However, through Christian teachings the meaning of trinity is brought out through the concept of love. Love cannot exist in seclusion ’God is Love’; hence God cannot exist in one form. This is considered blas...
The history of Judaism is a bit longer. Judaism was founded in around 1300 BC by Abraham. Abraham was the son of an idol merchant. As a child he questioned his fathers religion and came to believe that the whole world ...
Although distinctive religions, Islam, Judaism, and Christianity share several aspects and concepts, while differing in many principles and beliefs.
There are many similarities and differences between Judaism, Christianity and Islam. There are also many differences that separate the three major religions of the world. This paper will delve into all three of them.
Faith, the word by which people base their afterlife, has become the foundation of every religion. The three religions Judaism, Christianity and Islam are one of the oldest religions of the world. They have always been known for the strong faith they hold for their religion. Although the three religions are somewhat similar to each other they have their differences and beliefs. All three started with the same creator and got split to become their own religion. All of these religions started with Abraham and they still to this date hold Abraham in high position. Even with being almost the same religion they base everything o...
Judaism is one of the largest and oldest monotheistic religions. It was founded by Abraham in 2500 BC. It is a religion for a Jewish people. Judaism was founded in Mesopotamia. Judaists believe that Jesus of Nazareth is their god and there are like 14 million people who follow this religion.
Judaism and Islam are known to be two of the main religions that are found throughout the world. They each have similar traits and many more differences. They both are monotheistic, which means they only believe in one god. Muslims worship the God called Allah, which means in Arabic “the God”. And Jews worship the god called Yahweh, which means the God of Israel. Their differences include their core beliefs, rituals, symbols, and history.
Every religion has its own goal, and their own path and believe to reach their goals, however there are also many similarities in believes. Although the followers of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam may see things differently, they all fundamentally hold the same values and codes. To Islam, the Prophet Mohammad’s teaching is a complete and final revelation. On the other hand, according to the bible, Christianity believes that Jesus Christ is the true lord and savior will grant you the access to heaven in the afterlife. Judaism is founded by Abraham, and it is the base from which both of the other two religions sprung. Even though the three religions differ in many areas and on many aspects, they also agree on the monotheistic, the belief in ‘One True God.’ Those religions have many similarities and a number of significant differences about God, role of women, prayer, and salvation.
that exists and this can be read in the sacred texts, the Koran and the Bible. For all three monotheistic religions, God is the only one that can be considered as the Creator of the Universe, the All-Powerful and the venerable divine being that is gracious and merciful. They also accept the fact that this god is the same God that Abraham worships as stated in the Old Testament. This particular similarity between these three religions has given them the name “the Abrahamic religions” by some experts. Despite the varying names these three religions have for this particular god, in essence, they are one at the same. Abraham is also considered the father to the children of God, which are often referred to as the people of Israel. (Lin) What differs in the three religion’s concept of God is how they advocate them. One can see that Christianity and Judaism are close to their belief of God. They noted that Je...
Judaism sees Christianity's trinitarianism as a weakening of the idea of God's oneness. Jewish people don't have a set group of beliefs about the nature of God; therefore, there is considerable, and approved, debate within Judaism about God. However, all mainstream Jewish groups reject the idea of God's having three parts. Indeed, many Jewish people see an attempt to divide God as a partial throwback, or compromise with, the pagan conception of many gods. The Jewish View of JesusTo Christians, the central tenet of their religion is the belief that Jesus is the Son of God, part of the trinity, the savior of souls who is the messiah.
Islam and Christianity seem to have very little in common; however, the two actually show strong likeness, principally in the central areas. Both Muslims and Christians are monotheists, believing in one God. While both believe in the same God, He is called by two completely different names. He is referred to as "Allah" by Muslims and "God" by Christians. Although Islam and Christianity are two different religions, their similarities in beliefs and prayers make them comparable in many aspects.
Judaism, Christianity and Islam share the same birthplace the Middle East. Jerusalem is not only the home to Judaism but Christian and Muslim Religions as well. Equally important is the expansion of religions. For example Judaism and Christianity are also practiced in Europe, North America, Russia and elsewhere. Islam can be found in Europe, Central Asia, North and West Africa and elsewhere. (30-41)

A major concept that separates both of the religions is the fact that the God of each faith has different qualities. This means Islam and Christianity don’t worship the same God. Islam and Christianity are two separate belief systems in which two separate Gods exist. The commonalities of Christianity and Islam center around the idea of believing in one God. The God of Christianity and Islam is separate from the world and creation.
