Fahrenheit 451 is a dystopian novel, that shows that society should not have control over people. Believe it or not America’s society is quite similar to Fahrenheit 451’s society. Fahrenheit 451 is similar to America’s society because they both in some ways don’t have their own ideas, they let society control everything they do, and they both don’t like the people who don’t like the society.
The first reason why Fahrenheit 451 and America's society are similar is because they both don't have ideas in some ways. America struggles with this problem because of Social media. Social media has taken over the lives of everyone, young and old. Social media will say something, not always positive, and everyone believes it. It is taking away everyone’s free-thinking. If society keeps putting thoughts in people’s heads soon they will control everything people do. This is exactly what Fahrenheit 451’s society did to the people in the book. This is a problem in America’s society because people will listen to whatever society tells them to do. If society says wear socks over your shoes, the people will do it because if they don't follow it they feel like they will get judged by everyone. Fahrenheit 451 is exactly that. Society has complete control on whatever they do. The people of the book praise society and if they don't follow it they get casted out and shamed. Society told everyone that books are bad, so then the people started to burn books and make them illegal. An old lady in the book and books in her house. She loved them so much that when the firemen came to burn her books, along with her house she struck a match and burned with them.
