My paper will cover the differences between the original Cinderella and the book Cinderella and the Furry Slippers by Davide Cali. I will go over the power struggles in Cinderella and the differences in Cinderella and the Furry Slippers. The different solutions in each story and how it impacts the main character. She ran out of the castle and dropped her slipper. The next day the prince went out to look for the girl wearing the slipper and found Cinderella, he married her and they lived happily ever after. In the traditional fairy tale, the power was held by the stepmother, stepsisters and the prince. The stepmother felt inferior to Cinderella and wanted her as a servant to take care of her daughters. The stepsisters, who should be viewed as equals, instead look down on Cinderella and don’t want anything to do with her. The father in the story is the one with the money, but does nothing to help Cinderella. The prince is the ruler of the land and therefore can marry anyone he wants, and that person will be the princess. The prince falls in love with Cinderella and plans to marry her to get her out of her house and she will become the princess. The prince benefits Cinderella by saving her from her stepmother and stepsisters. Cinderella feels happy with the prince because she doesn’t have to clean, he’s rich, and she doesn’t have to serve
