Everyone knows Android and Apple have been rivals for years now. Each company has been developing new software and technology each year to prove who’s worthy of the #1 title. They have been competing with each other messenger, price difference, app store, product line, restrictions, and even marketing strategies. In 2012, Samsung, an Android represent, was forced to pay Apple $548.2 million for copyright infringement. This gives society a general idea of the rivalry between the two companies. I personally, along with many other consumers prefer Apple products due to its reliance and simplicity in design of software, iOS.
IOS, iPhone’s Operating System, is the software that is used in majority of Apple products. iOS was created by Apple on

These two apps stores have different search engines developed by the companies to search for other apps- this gives consumers different services, depending on whether have an iPhone or Android phone. The major difference in these two stores is that Android allows its consumers to build their own apps while Apple does not. For individuals who understand how software works, this is a great privalage, however this also makes the Android phones prone to viruses. The app store is a major analysis factor in the debate of which software is better because while Android phones may allow consumers to do more, Apple phones are easier to use for an everyday …show more content…

Apps are somewhat hard to make because of software differences, they have a simpler code, which creates less time to make. The products that the software covers are also apart of their credibility as a brand. iOS covers the product line of apple which includes Macbooks, iPads, iPhones, and iWatch. While android covers a larger base of products, they lack the software reliability from their users of product. Samsung is a great example of this problem with recent blowing up of their products, which doesn 't only affect their brand name but also the software that backs up the product.
Android does have a laptop in their product line made by Google called a Chromebook. A Chromebook is a cheaper product made by different companies but their software and processors. This products guarantees anti-virus service like no other, google drive available offline, and connectivity between android phone devices. IOS also has a well known laptop product called MacBook which offers the same services as google but more. iOS has their own office equipment which consists of pages, imovie, numbers, and keynotes. Also they have three different laptop types, which accommodates to different consumers want. Macbooks and Chromebooks are two completely different laptops that share same concept but in a different image. Macbooks have a slim and sleek look and holds a large amount data. Its processors are very unique

Each company has the same types of devices consisting of phones, music devise, portable players (tablets and etc.) and now they both have smart watches? What a coincidence to say the least. Both company’s together make up about 50% percent of the market, so it would almost worry me if they didn’t have the same products because of how competitive they are. Statistically Samsung sells more because they have more to offer that is very important in our world today. The Galaxy is water resistant, has bigger screens and what is becoming more popular is mobile payments; Samsung claims stores connect more with Samsung Pay than they do with Apple Pay. (Reisinger) The IPhone is not water resistant, but the new Apple Watch Series 2 is. Samsung’s Galaxy screen range from 5.1 to 5.5, while Apple ranges from 4.7 to 5.5, hopefully Apple rethinks the 4.7 screen and makes it a little bigger for users who do not want to buy the plus. (Reisinger, Apple) Both Apple and Samsung have different forms of mobile payments, but more users have been reported using the Samsung because it is offered at more places. Samsung could be working with more companies to get their product out there more, but also some people could be worried about the threat of it altogether. The Apple IPhone ranges from 649$ to 849$ depending on the GB storage you’d like, while the Samsung Galaxy ranges from 672$ to
To summarize, Apple and Samsung are two companies that work in completely different ways, but do have many similar products and business ideas. Reflecting earlier to the comparison of the two children arguing, in 2012 Apple sued Samsung for patent infringement. After Apple won the claim, Samsung created a humorous and false story that said they paid apple the one billion dollars in nickels. The story goes that thirty trucks full of nickels arrived to pay the amount won by Apple, but remember that the story was false (Elmer-DeWitt). Samsung challenged the decision of the court and the ongoing battle between the two technology giant roars on with no foreseeable end in sight.

...ecurity steps taken to preserve the owners’ personal and priceless information. The iPhone is a better phone overall compared to any Android device because of the careful design and attractive display, the operating system and its functionality, and the security of the device itself is definitely worth the cost to own one. Apple has really outdone there self and clearly surpassed Android devices, claiming the top spot of the competition.
When we discuss apps, we must also discuss with the apps store developed by Apple. The concept of apps is first being well-developed since iPhone was invented. Apps just like the software on your devices and already existed for a long time. Develop of apps store really make the application on phone be more competitive. Apple providing an apps store for the public to distribute their apps and it is more convenient for the users to download apps and compare the apps which are in similar functions.
Therefore, despite Apple having numerous products, its primary competitors will be evaluated primarily from the smartphone product point of view. Apple’s primary competitor is South Korea’s electronics company Samsung. The two have held the lion’s share of the global smartphone market for a long time. As of April 2017, Samsung had outsold Apple, which led to the former having a market share of 26.1% when compared to Apple’s 16.9% during the same period (Reisinger, 2017). The improved performance of Samsung was on the backdrop of the failed launch of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, which had problems with its battery allowing Apple’s iPhone to temporarily take the top spot (Reisinger, 2017). While the two command the lion’s share of the market in the smartphone category, there are other upcoming electronics companies such as China’s Huawei and Oppo whose market shares have experienced exponential growth. Consequently, in the medium term, these middle-tier smartphone makers will pose as considerable competitors to Apple

has a competitive advantage over their competitors. One of the methods that Apple uses to maintain a competitive advantage in international markets is tying their hardware and applications together with an integrated operating system. This means that one of their devices, such as the iPad works very much like the iPhone and many of the apps run one device just as they do on the other. The only difference would be the size of the product. Apples laptop is larger than the iPad which is larger than the iPhone. Otherwise these products share the same functionality and information through connectivity. They share functionality and information seamlessly through connectivity, constantly updating customer’s lives through simple plug-in. I think this is the number one reason why Apple has an edge over their

The cause of such growth is google partnering up with service providers to give consumers more android handset choices, for instance, HTC, Samsung, LG and much more [1]. The partnering has been beneficial because users are given the opportunity to select affordable handsets of different models [1]. In 2010, 200,000 Android handset were being sold each day whereas only 80,000 iPhones were being sold each day [1]. To support the view that Android is climbing its way up the ladder of success, evidence was presented showing the North American smartphone unit sales by quarter [1]. The graph that was provided shows that iPhone’s unit sales were around 3 million per quarter in all six quarters, Blackberry was steady throughout each quarter with 5 to 6 million per quarter and Androids sales grew considerably each quarter [1]. The comparison between all the different smartphone units’ sales by quarter helps support the view that Android is rising its way to popularity and also to becoming the market leader beating all the other handsets [1]. The second evidence used was one that shows the North American smartphone OS market share in the form of a pie chart [1]. The pie chart shows that Android became the market leader with 39 percent market share in 2010 [1]. Android undoubtedly beats both blackberry and Apple iOS
The mobile application development especially that of the operating systems, has taken an ugly turn for both the Apple and the Android devices. Since Apple has come up with IOS 1.x (colloquially known as IOS 1 back in 2008), Google came up with the first iteration of its own operating system, the Android version 1.0 in the same year. It was just the beginning of the war which was going to rage on for the years to come.
