According to the American heritage dictionary of English language, the big bang theory is a scientific theory describing the origin of all space, time, matter, and energy approximately 13.7 billion years ago from the violent expansion of a singular point of extremely high density and temperature. Basically, this means that the big bang theory is based on the fact that the universe originated from a big explosion billions of years ago, but its origin can be credited to Edwin Hubble. The theory of the big bang grew out of Einstein’s equations of general relativity. There are so many theories and ideas involved in the creation of relativity; some that disprove the big bang and some that affirm it. There are more theories that disprove the validity of the big bang than there are theories that affirm it. Here are some of the theories that affirm the validity of the big bang. As was written in the previous paragraph, the big bang theory grew out of Einstein’s equations of general relativity in which he related the form in which space is shaped to how matter is spread. And in the big bang theory, the universe (matter, space time, energy) is spread out as a result of an explosion. Do you now see the …show more content…
Biblically it is stated that God said "Lord, in the beginning you laid the foundation of the earth. With your own hands you made the heavens.” (Hebrews, 1:10). It is clearly stated here that God laid the foundation of the earth. Also, it states that “Heaven and earth will eventually disappear….” (Matthew, 24:35), this is in sync with the second law of thermodynamics which says that things will move from order to disarray… still disproving the validity of the big bang. Again, the bible also states that “… The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare“. Re-read that statement, it’s so true that it is almost
The Main Strengths of the Cosmological Argument There are many strengths within the Cosmological Argument which have proven theories and ways to prove the existence of God. Many of these strengths have come from such scholars as; Copleston, Aquinas and Leibniz, all of which have put together major points to prove the existence of a non-contingent being. One of the main strengths of the Cosmological Argument is from Aquinas way I that was about motion. This would be a posteriori argument because you need to gather evidence from the world around you.
In Jane Goodall’s, In the Forests of Gombe, she says, “It was not some intangible God who created the universe, [scientists] argue, it was the Big Bang Theory. Scientists believe that the universe started out as a single singularity and over billions of years, the universe was created. Religionists believe that God created the universe. The Bible reads, “ In the beginning, when God created the universe, the earth was formless… And so the whole universe was completed; By the seventh day God finished what he had been doing and stopped working… And that is how the universe was created”
Parmenides of Elea once presented the expression ex nihilo nihil fit, which translates to nothing comes from nothing for one of his many theses. The Cosmological Argument, an argument of the posteriori category, meaning that it requires data based on past experiences, argues for the existence of God with this type of expression at its core. By attempting to prove how the universe must be influenced by an independent being that has godlike qualities, cosmological arguments suggest that it is rational to believe in an omnipotent being and its accountability of creating the universe.
If creation is taken metaphorically, the earth could be four to fifteen billion years old. However, it is not essential which theory one believes, what matters is that God created all of it. This informs Christians that God created the universe; this is the most basic affirmation of Genesis. There is no room given for any other creative power. Through God’s spoken word, the universe was created.
In many theories that come into the light in the scientific field, there are always gaps, there are always issues within each that have no explanation to them. For example, the big bang theory, this is a theory that attempts to explain how the universe was created. This theory states that the universe began as a very small, dense, and hot ball (Imagine the universe all put into a ball the size of a pen tip) with no stars or atoms. This ball then expanded incredibly quickly. The universe was then formed as the way it is now. Personally, I feel as if this theory has a major hole that prevents me from believing it is possible. This hole is, “What exactly put this ball into motion in the first place?”
The agnostic’s assertion may be expressed by the sentence, “We cannot know whether there is a God or not, and we cannot know whether the universe has been in existence since eternity or not.” He believes that nothing is or can be known. If the hypothesis “Matter had a beginning” is confirmed, the assertion that “Matter had no beginning” would be refuted and the contention “We cannot know whether it had a beginning or not” will be proved wrong. Thus, demonstration of the fact that matter had a beginning is a blow not only to atheism but also to agnosticism and skepticism. Once the hypothesis of the beginning and creation of matter has been confirmed, the atheists should abandon their disbelief and the agnostics their skepticism. If you remember the words in the sura The Prophets, verse 30, “Will they not believe even then?” this statement in the verse that described the Big Bang is a sign according to which the unbelievers will stick to their own convictions, or lack of conviction. It has become clear that an agnostic is no different than a man who worships the cow and the denial of the atheist is tantamount to the adoration of fire; these people base their philosophies on absolute lack of evidence, sheer delusion, total lack of logic and scientific reasoning.
The thirty-second president of the United States, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, exclaimed during his Inaugural address: “The test of our progress is not whether we add more to the abundance of those who have much; it is whether we provide enough for those who have too little” (Kleinknecht 26). This quote provides a stark contrast between the priorities of Reaganomics, the supply-side economic policy that did nothing but benefit the wealthy. In the history of American politics, no president stands out quite like Ronald Reagan. His presidency remains the subject of constant examination in terms of his economic policies. Not only that, the fortieth president’s rhetoric especially became a point of scrutiny, revealing his ability to manipulate the
The cosmological argument is the existence of God, arguing that the possibility of each existing and the domain collected of such elements in this universe. The inquiry is that 'for what reason does anything exist? Why as opposed to nothing? In this paper, I will explain for what reason does everything need cause? Why is God thought to be the principal cause?
Yet, probably one of the most simplistic yet profound statements in the Bible is the one found at the beginning of the Bible, "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth". The psalmist, the prophets, and the apostle have affirmed this simple yet magnificent verse. Although, it is the subject of much debate. The Bible assumes and never argues the existence of God. Although everything made, at one time had a beginning, God has always been. The vastness and enormity of this one statement is equaled by no other for it assumes and states many things concerning the greatness and truth of God.
4. According to the Moritz, anything outside recognizable universe is not something we can make any inductions or conclusions. Our scientific potentiality does not predate the Big bang, and also our scientific observance cannot go beyond the Big Bang. We cannot say definitively that the cosmos came from nothing, or if the universe came from something.
The Big Bang is a theory that the universe was created in a very large
Genesis 1:1-2 says: “First this: God created the Heavens and Earth—all you see, all you don’t see. Earth was a soup of nothingness, a bottomless emptiness, an inky blackness. God’s Spirit brooded like a bird over the watery abyss.” The Message. There is a long-standing debate over whether the universe sprang into existence as "singularity", or God created it. Singularities are, in the simplest of terms, black holes.
Truth about creation is found only in the Bible (Ryrie 206). The first verse of the Bible Genesis 1:1, In the beginning God created the Heavens and the Earth, is an absolute statement.
The big bang theory states that the universe began by expanding from an infinitesimal volume with extremely high density and temperature. It was initially smaller than the head of a pin. The theory states that space was created at the same time as the big bang and expanded carrying matter with it. Many physicists believe even time began with the big bang. The evidence supporting the big bang was so great that in 1951, the Catholic Church declared the big bang model to comply with the Bible.
The big bang theory is an attempt to explain how the world began. The big bang theory begins with what is called a “singularity.” This term is used to describe an area in space which defies all the known laws of physics. Singularities are thought to exist at the core of black holes. Black holes are areas of intense gravitational pressure. The pressure is thought to be so intense that matter is pressed together into an infinite amount of pressure. The dense hot mass of the singularity slowly expanded. This process is called inflation. As the singularity expanded the universe went from dense and hot to cool and expansive. Inflation is still continuing on today which means that the universe is continually expanding.
