When people think of a tornado they may think of a vortex of spiraling winds reaching up to 200 mph. But when they think of a hurricane they may think of something very different but tornados and hurricanes have many similarities. Like how they have around the same costs and around the same casualties. Some ways that they are unlike is that they have different chances of happening like how tornados can happen 1000-3000 times a year (Hammond Protecting Life And Property) but hurricanes happen roughly 1-5 (MAP) that is a big difference. Also tornados and hurricanes have different locations from where they can happen tornados can happen around the middle of the U.S.A (MAP) but hurricanes happen along the coast line (MAP). hurricanes and tornados are unalike is that hurricanes have heavy rains and winds (Perry) but tornados have a cone shape (Hammond). But hurricane and tornados have some similarities like how they have similar cost as mentioned above. Tornados and hurricanes have a cost of about 500,000,000-15,000,000,000 (MAP). Also they have very alike casualties with tornados taking only a few lives (Hammond) and hurricanes close behind (Perry). As a conclusion hurricane and tornados have many differences but they are also alike in many different ways too.
