The Atlantic or Transatlantic Slave Trade began in the fiftthteenth century, as the largest human trafficking of Africans Slaves to various corners of the world. The slave trade established the basis for a means of profit, private ownership, and an enormous opportunity for Europe, America, and Africa to become wealthy countries. It is evident from the motives of the various countries that slavery had a profound impact on Africa’s Society. From the beginning, the import of slaves was viewed as a financial commodity. The slave traders concentrated on various regions in Africa to capture slaves. It is thought that over half of the slaves captured came from the Angolan Coast that was to be sent to the Americas. Many slaves were captured during raids on towns, villages; and tribes at war with one another sold the captured Africans to other Africans. The slave traders centered the capturing of African slaves along the coastlines for the purposes of holding and transporting slaves when the quota was achieved. The Middle Passage resulted in considerable loss of life for the enslave Africans. The inhuman treatment of the slaves by the captors was seen as cargo rather than humans. Hundreds of men, women and children were corralled in quarters in the bowel of huge ships bound for various ports of the world. The crowded conditions created profound sanitary conditions there were often fatal for the slaves. Given this information on African trade it denotes a grave commentary of events that was created by a greedy and an injustice institution.
